I never realised you could filter by store. Thank you for this info.

If you're buying graded goods (like electronics) from CeX, is there away to pick the grade you want? If you look at some handhelds they're just listed without grades. I'm a bit new about their A Grade as they're listed as "A - Mint - These products must be in mint/new condition. The product must be immaculate; if it is not then it is unfortunately not deemed as an A grade. All accessories means everything that would have originally come in the box."

Certainly some electronics have multiple listings on the website for different gradings and you can therefore pick the grade you want. For example, I just sold a monitor graded as "A" and got higher reimbursement than one which would have been "B" or "C". If there is no grading specific letter in the title for your item, I would suspect that it would be a lottery.

What do they now use? Haven't bought anything online from them since I got a copy of Hammer Volume Four from them soon after said item had gone OOP.

They've were having issues with PayPal, so it was temporarily removed.

Has anyone bought, or seen, a "refurbished" title before?

They had a copy of the limited edition of Crimson Peak on the Cex site, but I wasn't sure what the product would look like.

Isn’t everything refurbished? It can vary from absolutely perfect condition to terrible condition. At least when shopping in store you can check the condition first but that isn’t always an option.

Best to try and check in store. I've seen some horrifically damaged LTEs / slipboxes on the shelves at pretty much full price. Dented Steel books is a whole other story.

Yeah I never buy online unless the thing is dirt cheap and worth the gamble.

Thread also reminded me, the Chazzers up in Clapham Common has a standard edition of Kieslowski's Cinema of Conflict marked as the limited edition and selling for ridiculous money. Keep meaning to correct them on it every time I see it, if they'd even be arsed!

It's not really a gamble at all given you can return any item that you're not happy with for a full refund.

Buying online is worth it as returns are free, especially when an item has just gone OOP and is OOS everywhere else, usually solid condition as well.

Edit: Beaten to it

do returns have to be done in store by the person who bought it or do they just need the order number to refund it? aka if someone else is going in town can i just hand it off to them to get a refund?

Just take the invoice/order details with you or whoever is going.

They will refund to the original source of payment, never ask for ID or anything

Had my 1st online purchase from Cex the other day. JSA for £7.99. It was sent in a cardboard mailer, immaculate condition, with slip and booklet. Well pleased!
