I really enjoyed EOT. I did have one issue with the very end.

Most time travel movies run into paradoxes, etc. But I believe the main idea is as follows: If Cage kills an Alpha and takes its blood and the said Alpha dies first, then Omega gets confused and now believes that Cage is that Alpha. So if Cage dies now, Omega resets the day as it would for any Alpha. The real Alpha ceases to exist and does not reset as Omega cannot have two of identical Alphas. At the end Cage kills Omega and takes its blood. Cage now becomes Omega and dies. The day is reset. We cannot have two Omegas, so the original that died first does not reset. Since Cage is not the real Omega, he cannot control the Alphas and all of the other aliens and they all die. This however presents many plot holes, but I think they can be overlooked.

However, in the book, Rita and Cage both become heroes awarded the Order of the Valkyrie.

I'd say that's a better more effective ending than the film had.

Yea originally Edge of tomorrow was the same title as the manga but they changed it. I wish they would have kept the "All you need is kill" title too.

I'm Sure that all that prob makes sense, but to me...

I've seen people post that a few times here, & to ME, (having Not read the book), but that title would have been very confusing (to many, I think). Not that EOT is a Terrific title, but, with the previews, it Does make sense, right?

No biggie - just my thoughts.

I'm not one to jump on the 'down with p.c.' bandwagon, but I am tired of petty censorship like changing film titles or not showing a film at all because of its title or content (like Kick-Ass, because "ass" was in the title). That said, we've had an abnormal increase in school shootings, base shootings, and the like, so I can understand the trepidation with having a title like "All You Need is Kill". Still...what a badass title. At least they didn't change "A Dame to Kill For".

The action could best be described as a gigantic, pointless blur. There is no winner or losers, we simply get a zombie style slaughter, where either the humans or aliens are overpowered and cakewalking the other. Rita is given an awesome buster sword (shamelessly ripped from Final Fantasy VII), but we rarely see her put it to good use thanks to A.D.D. quick cuts and generally poor fight cinematography. Theres really no action here worth revisiting.

The supporting characters are reduced to the dumbest of steretypes. None of them have a personality, they're simply the fat disgusting guy, the illiterate redneck, etc etc.

Just a bad to average film overall with a few interesting visuals. Nothing worth revisiting here.

I get it, you were expecting/hoping for a Sci-Fi action thriller? With that in mind EoT failed most certainly but if you go in expecting nothing or, from basing it on the trailer, you'd likely realize this is more of your typical action adventure
Also you have to realize this is based on a manga/anime so Tentacled aliens and swords n mech suits go hand in hand... existing before FF7


But I can totally see why a viewer would be bummed out if they were expecting something totally different

While the movie is definitely of high quality, pretty entertaining and evenly paced, I can't help but find it sterile and unmemorable. It falls in the same category with Oblivion for me. It's a movie to rent, not to own as it has little replay value.
