Before I say MY piece, here is what some in the press have to say:
https://thestreamable.com/news/loki-...isodes-1-and-3 Generally, I don't follow critics anyway, but in this case I have to 100% agree. The series started out on a great concept and terrific story...then all of a sudden the excitement level ground to a literal halt by the end of ep 3. Once again, Disney/Marvel producers find it MORE important to concentrate on presenting an agenda then it is in entertaining its fan base. Obviously the "story" they have in mind is worthy of 3 or 4 episodes and now its being stretched out to whatever it is signed for: 6, 8 or 10? Doesn't matter, the pace of the story needs to be maintained to not only generate but continue interest. Granted there is a certain number of fans who will thirst and consume Marvel content regardless of quality or pace of story...I'm not speaking to that group. I'm speaking to those of us who may not be rabid Marvel fans, who enjoy the fantasy, science-fiction and action aspects...this series after three episodes pales in comparison to the previous Marvel efforts we've already seen in WandaVision & F&TWS. Apparently, I'm not the only viewer who feels this way. |

I know there's not much to talk about, but crapping on an entire season that just hit the halfway point because they didn't like one episode is just dumb.
I ask everyone this question: what exactly did you hate about it? Why do you think it's something that wouldn't be solved or fixed or helped by the end of the season? I ask those same people: Don't actually answer the question. Just be patient and see how the season goes. I enjoyed the episode. Instead of time hijinks (which this show isn't a time travel hijinks show anyway), we got some character and plot development, some fun action and good dialogue pieces. *shrug* |

I ended up not being a huge fan of F&TWS, and I didn't say that until after the show concluded. |

How is
[Show spoiler] boring? Two people just talking is not boring if the dialogue is important, and this show has really delivered in my opinion. From Mobius tearing down Loki with questions, to the banter with Sylvie, I love how these interactions are making Loki look at himself and his place in the universe differently. The cast is excellent and the special effects are movie feature quality. Can't wait for the next episode! |

I think all three are excellent, but if I had to pick just one, I'd say Loki is my favorite of the three. It could potentially find its way near the top of my MCU ranking, above some of the movies, if it keeps this level of quality going.

Comparing ALL three shows after airing their third episode, there is NOTHING about Loki that makes me want to watch the fourth episode....I may, I may not. It's just simply NOT compelling enough to me? Compared to WV, where Geraldine/Monica had just been banished to the outside of the barrier and Wanda having the strangest labor pains ever... Or Falcon/Winter Soldier the team had just met up with Zemo and we saw the interaction between Bucky and Ayo... On both previous shows I WANTED to see the next one so badly...I just don't feel that with Loki, maybe my mind says he's actually a villain and never to be trusted....but either way there is nothing compelling that makes me want to watch what goes down...not like the previous shows. While "boring" isn't exactly the word I'd describe, I can see why people feel that way. Most of the details is revealed in these conversations. Loki with Mobius, Loki with Sylvie...and the way the series is going its bad guy & worse guy....but you don't know yet whom is whom? Till that happens, I think people like myself find it hard to root or support anyone involved...for fear we're rooting for the wrong guy? In EVERY previous MCU incantation, Loki was the villain. Until he lost his life at the hands of Thanos. Sorry but that just doesn't seem cause for admonition. Maybe to those who followed in comics or other lore may understand but I think to most people, this is the motivation lacking in the storyline. |

F&TWS was all about establishing Sam as the new C.A. which in itself wasn't a spoiler, but how he got there and who he had to go through to get there was quite a story. A GOOD indication where you knew the start and the end, but the middle was the most compelling. I just don't feel the same motivation with Loki, and granted there are large contingents who agree and disagree with my feelings. |

It just sounds like you're not a fan of the character or his arc. Why is it so hard to not need to "root" for someone? I can watch the show, and sure I can root for Loki because I love the character and admire the actor. It's also very well written and the score is superb. But to downplay a show because you don't know who the hero is, or the villain, to me is premature. Maybe you're better off just waiting the 3 weeks and watch it all at once. Maybe a lot of people are. |

And I don't mean that as a slight, or an insult or anything.
It's one of those different strokes for different folks moment. I do truly hope you enjoy it, and if you don't I hope you find something else that you do. |

I like Loki, but it's also not living up to my expectations...yet. I really hope they stick the landing because I really don't think WV or FWS had great endings.

Two episodes in.
It was strange. Everything started to feel very familiar to me; the banter, the gags, the comedy, the sets, the editing, the jumping around between past, present and future. Like experiencing deja-vu. Then I remembered. Someone here already called it in an earlier post; Loki is quite reminiscent of the British sci-fi series Doctor Who. I'm even reminded of very specific details from especially Matt Smith's run as The Doctor. Meeting and chasing other versions of yourself in time. 'Hiding something' within the moment of an apocalyptic event. It's not a clone of the BBC show; they're not identical. But there are so many similarities that it can't be a coincidence. ![]() |

It's just not appealing to me at this point. Had this been a network series, if I'm not fully involved after the third episode, I'm NEVER going to be... and VERY FEW network shows I've followed... LOST, Game Of Thrones,...I'm more of a movie guy. I'm not saying Loki is "bad", I'm simply saying that IMO the previous shows were better at advancing a storyline and keeping interest through every episode...and from the article I referenced, I'm not alone in this. So while I don't think its an either/or kind of thing, personally, I'm not invested in the concept already presented enough to continue watching. I already know that [Show spoiler] ....but I'll worry or catch up on that later. Till then those who enjoy.........enjoy! |

I'll never try to tell someone not to like something. If you did, great have fun. But to the people who thought this was a good episode... What did you learn? What purpose was served? We learned nothing of her goals, why she's doing what she's doing, her back story, nothing.
Yes yes it's the midpoint of a series and we don't know what's coming... But what happened in THIS episode to further the narrative. Cool special effects and witty banter aren't enough when you only have six episodes to tell your story. This guy says it way better than me. |
