Hmm in my area there was nothing worse than Amazon's own shipping. A total horror show. Packages would go from a warehouse 30 miles away then over to PA then down to FL then back to NJ to a stop like 10 miles from my house and then sit there for a few days and then be out for delivery and never arrive. Or go from a warehouse 30 miles away, be out for delivery and then just disappear. They even found some of their drivers dumping entire loads of stuff on back roads. Don't think their drivers had a clue about NJ past the built-up area right by NYC and would get lost and give up. Literally was getting nearly 30% of my orders 100% lost and another 30% would take over a week for two day delivery. Such a total disaster they went back to using USPS in my area for everything.

^ Depends on the area, I guess. Here in metro Detroit, we have a couple of Amazon warehouses. Lots of Amazon drivers on the road. I'm a Prime member, I order a decent amount of stuff, and have a problem maybe once a year.
Also, Target REDcard members get 5% off everything, and free shipping via UPS. Another option I would recommend over Deep Discount. The double-whammy of coronavirus and underfunding means USPS is simply not reliable when it comes to Media Mail. It's a very low-priority service. They've told me that MM just sits around until someone gets to it, and that was before corona. |

Got my review copy of the Gamera Collection(discs only) coming from Arrow Video in August and I took some screenshots from the Gamera trilogy from the 90's as they have brand new 4K transfers.

The Mr. Vampire disc is an import so they have to rely on getting their inventory from the U.K., so that takes some time. The Gamera set is from the U.S. so there shouldn't be any problem unless the USPS decides they don't want to deliver it on time.

Anyway, I pre-ordered mine from Target as part of the buy 2 get 1 free deal plus 5% Redcard. I've also become used to slow since I've ordered a few things from Europe/Australia and during this crazy time some of it has taken over two months from day of shipping. |

I have been going through the extras on each disc (up to disc 3 so far) and there is just a plethora of features on this thing. No alternate versions of the films after the second film, which I thought kept going), commentaries and introductions make up for that. There is also some really great footage taken at G-fest as well as a gallery focusing on the Neptune Media VHS releases of three of the Gamera films in the States. So far, this set is a lot to take in, but it has been worth it.

Actually, the third film DOES have the American version on it as well as a directors cut. I just discovered that right after I made that post. For the fourth film, it looks like no American version.

The AIP tracks switch to Japanese if you watch the Japanese Version of Gamera Vs. Barugon or Gamera Vs. Guiron with the AIP tracks (apparently you can listen to the former with that track). I know that Gamera Vs. Viras had a VERY short scene in which it wasn't dubbed to English for the AIP Version so I don't know if that's also the same answer (or if that scene is in the US Version on the Blu-ray). |
