That is one serious amp Ryan.....can't wait to hear your impressions of the 100's with that NAD monster!

I would love 10's and CC390 even if it were V4, you guys think dealers would do something like $600 for the two 10's v.4 if they had them ?

Thanks for you're input as always.
I doubt you will get a 25% discount. If you have a really good relationship with your dealer then perhaps.

+1. The product on hand was already purchased at the previous cost...

Thank you!. Being a dealer myself, I sometimes get defensive on these message boards because, from what I have been reading, there are many crappy dealers out there. I don't think of myself as one of them. I enjoy what I do very much, and I try to be very fair with my customers.

I guess finding a good dealer is harder than I thought.

FORS, I am dying to give my amp some good speaker to chew on. I like the ones that I have now, the ones that I built myself, but using two 5.25" woofers doesn't offer up much to be desired to a powerhouse amp.

Did you ever post pics of the DIY speakers? I wouldn't mind checking them out, as I love to check out people's handy work......especially handy work that I don't think I am capable of.

Don't tell us, you left your camera at home, right?

How much does each one weigh anyway?

I didn't bring a camera to work. I didn't feel like nerding it up at work. Despite working for a dealer, I am the only one into HT like this, where I want to go online and share the anticipation and experience with others. But when I get home and I crack off a few pics of the boxes, in and out of, and when they are set up.

Each Studio 100 weighs 78lbs. Together they are the heaviest thing in my system. But on an individual basis, each speaker is still behind the Sub 12 at 88lbs and the ridiculous weight my my NAD M25 at 96.3lbs. The M25 is just stupid heavy. To hard to move ESPECIALLY in the box. The box is so huge and so awkward to manuever

I have moved my Servo 15v2 up 1 flight of stairs by myself because I couldn't wait for someone else to help me hook it up, haha.

Weight - 114lb.

Is anybody using Signiture speakers? I find it interesting that nobody even mentions them when talking about upgrades. Are they that much more expensive? If I had the extra $$, would they be worth purchasing over the Studios?

Yeah the Sigs are beautiful and the sounds fantastic, and if I could afford them I would bring home a pair of Sig6s or 8s. But the current retail CAD on Studio 100s and $3399, while the S6s are $5399 and the S8s are $7199. That is over double the price of my Studio 100s for the S8s.

My advice to anyone that is ever interested in Sig series. When they do a model change over I can get the cost down by 30% sometimes. Sure they would be the old version, but who cares if you can save 30% on something that you are luck to get 10% off (not as much margin in Sigs surprisingly).

It's though for me to say because I only deal with Canadian pricing. $1250CAD before tax is a decent price for 11s up here in Canada.

I was thinkin about getting S2's for a 2ch setup upstairs but I'm gonna hold off awhile and check out more speakers this summer.

I listened to the S6's last summer and they sounded really good with some music samples at the store compared to the Studio 100's but for HT I really couldn't hear a $2000 difference - even if it was only $500 more the only reason I would get them is to claim Sig Series.. not for the sound improvement. My use is still mainly HT so I would never get a full 5.1 or 7.1 Sigs - just a good pair for 2ch unless I had some serious cash comin in and I could spend it any way I wanted. For HT I don`t see anything replacing these Studios for a long time..

I got my Monitor 11v5's for CDN$835 from TruTone in Mississauga, ON.
The guy who was there when I went to pick them up had to call the salesguy because the v5's were BRAND NEW at the time (Dec 2006) and he said he must have gotten the price wrong.
Nope! I was taking a used Servo 15v2 off his hand, been in a client's home for 1 day and was way too much sub for them...for $1750, so he gave me a steal on the 11v5's.

You bargain well, no reason you couldn't get them for $1099 though, especially if you have a good relationship with your dealer. $1,250 is the price I paid for my 11v4's and it was an okay deal...has cost gone up since then overall?
