I watched it for the first time last year, after being intrigued by all the demands for Bill to release the blu.

I expected a hidden gem from my teen years that I had somehow managed to miss.

Instead, I got a thoroughly dumb zombie flick starring a reasonably attractive woman.

It's a movie for teenaged boys - not that there's anything wrong with that (I used to be one!), but I am a middle aged man now and it didn't offer much entertainment value.

I was considering a blind buy on this one, but with all the DF negativity and the fact that I just watched a trailer for this, it is an easy pass for me! I have never dealt with DF and I think that's probably for the best. I have always supported companies like Code Red and I feel bad for Bill now.

It really looks like the only part worth watching would be the scenes you mention!

Picked up the Best Buy sold in store sent back sad to say 2 disc edition of Dead Pit off the cartel a few years back.

It's still sealed, I've almost watched it a few times then pick something else.

Will dump the standard DVD on a chump and pick up the Blu

I feel badly for Bill because of his health and struggles. I feel happy for him that he has multiple outlets/businesses stepping up to help him sell his products, while he deals with his health. David is part of that equation, even though some people don't like it, but, I'll say again, if you want Bill to be able to continue with Code Red, it is important to support him via whatever vendors you select. Dark Force and Ronin are just two great options among several and the two I tend to frequent most often, but, we all know, it takes different strokes for different folks.

As to Dark Force, specifically, David announced Breeders for this summer as part of his collectible box series. I'm assuming the year or so extra on MM I is due to the extra effort in getting interviews, which I happen to appreciate. When "You're So Cool Brewster" arrived and I popped it in, knowing I love those features and having paid for the thing in the first place, even I was surprised by just how much I loved listening to everyone talk about filming Fright Night. It is now one of my favorite Blu-rays. So, basically, bring on those special features.

It's streaming on amazon prime, if you happen to have that... I haven't watched this movie at all so I can't attest to the quality of the stream....

My two cents if anyone cares XD

It should appeal to fans of 80s horror/b movies and gorehounds. I found it to be quite fun and have been waiting for the blu over a year, whenever Bill asked for input on the cover.

Exactly. Why does Dave need to constantly try to make it an actual physical fight with people? Which is what happened, and what always happens. Say something, and he threatens you with violence then says he didn't.

So stop poking the demon

Dave has been very pleasant with me and the most friendly, personable, & responsive label owner I've talked to. I also don't deride his label and releases every other post, though. If the label bothers someone that much why not just ignore it instead of trying to trash it & pick a fight with the label owner?

Wow, DeFalco managed to post what looks to be an actual screenshot of Dead Pit. Just one though. A for effort

Seconded. David is a decent guy. If you are respectful and kind, he reciprocates. That is actually how many in the world still behave, especially when dealing with customers. Unfortunately, some people feel the need to be overly critical of many label owners, not just David DeFalco, instead of just walking away from whatever label has irked them, in favor of giving their money to whatever company they deem worthy.

Remember the guy who hates Bill so much that he has a whole blog about it? I'll never understand that. Code Red is awesome, but, if you hate it that much, you can just move on to another company. As to David, he just needs to learn to resist the urge to respond to those who are being clearly and deliberately rude and remember that most who order from him really appreciate the service and products he is providing.

So far, the quality of his releases has been high and the ones I've gifted (when buying another copy in a bundle) have been greatly appreciated.

I don't know whether people have checked the sale or not, and I already have pretty much everything so it's not for me, but I did notice some newly listed Code Red and some titles around the $15 mark that are usually higher. Sadly, no pre-order bundle of Point Doom and Dead Pit. Doesn't mean they won't have a bundle come the day, they just don't have it right now. Worth taking a look for the ones with cartoon women on the covers. Truck Stop... Moonshine... Swinging... good films.

I already own all the Code Red inventory. And the only DF title I need is The Last Victim. I keep waiting for a new title to go up so I can snatch a bundle with new title + Last Victim.

Even though there was length confusion, over the multiple versions of the film that exist, the release turned out very well and he's really proud of it, so it will be something he bundles more than once. You should be able to get it bundled with Dead Pit or Point Doom in due course.
