Also, what worries me is that fact that Nolan isn't denying that the ending of TDKR is directly a link to the Justice League. He was asked about it and I remember seeing that he simply said "You know I can't answer that" and then smiled. That's hardly a denial. He could have just said "my trilogy stands on it's own feet" but he didn't and that could be a hint that Blake is in fact JL's Batman. But of course Nolan could be just egging people on. I hope his trilogy is left alone and has nothing to do with JL. It would, to me, undermine the ending of TDKR (which I thought was a perfect ending to Nolan's masterful Bruce Wayne arc). |

I have zero problem with putting JGL in the Justice League movie as Batman.
The way I see it, there have been plenty of Batman movies that deal with Batman's personal side and they don't need to spend precious screentime on Batman in a movie with a whole team of superheroes. This is basically the approach Bruce Timm took on the Justice League cartoons. If the entire Justice League movie went by without showing Batman unmasked or saying his real name it would be fine by me, and in that case it wouldn't really matter if they cast JGL. It would give audiences the option of interpreting it as a Dark Knight Trilogy connection without compromising the trilogy itself with all this crossover nonsense. And if people wanted to consider JGL was playing a version of Bruce Wayne or if a kid was watching it and had no idea Batman was anything but a guy in a bat costume they could interpret it that way as well. |

The countdown to detonation was a huge plot hole. There wouldn't be a set time, and surely not to the second. I was really disappointed in this movie. Nowhere near as good as the previous two.

I think he means that time was running out because the stuff inside was destablizing the longer it was away from the machine that turned the power inside into clean energy, so figuring out the precise second when it would become unstable enough to actually blow is a tad silly. I agree, but I can overlook it.

There are a lot of dumb cliche things in this movie, but they aren't plot holes. If The Godfather came out today, people all over would be crying plothole because we weren't shown how Michael ended up in Italy. Did he teleport? You would think the other families would be monitoring the airports, how did he get over there? Seriously, PLOT HOLE. |

Yeah, it's not a massive problem that derails the film, it just a bit odd. The filmmakers did it because it's more dramatic - the bomb cannot be defused unless the core is replaced, unlike a 'regular' bomb countdown that can be stopped by flicking a switch or clipping a wire - but them being able to time the explosion down to the last second is a very clunky way of dealing with it.

![]() On my Bluray bonus disc (bought in the US, BD combo pack)... there is a subtitle selection for Latin Spanish (Also French and B. Portuguese) and it plays Spanish subtitles for all of the special features. Now granted, the packaging only lists English SDH. I included some screen shots for clarification. So, I'm confused with your comment. Or maybe we're talking about 2 different things? https://www.dropbox.com/s/aplrflngog...3.32%20HDR.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/2gph7ofwh1...4.03%20HDR.jpg Last edited by ChrisToad; 01-02-2013 at 07:23 PM. Question: watching the Dark Knight Rises, I found dialogue to be completely indiscernible for, like, the second half of the movie. Is this inherent to the movie's sound design, or the discs' audio track? Though, it's always a possibility that it can be attributed to my less-than-stellar speaker set-up.

How so? Remember, Bruce Wayne is Batman. He has mastered the art of stealth through League of Shadows training. After getting out of the pit it took him roughly 3 weeks to get back to Gotham. You are telling me he didn't have connections or resources to help him make that journey back to Gotham? Also, I highly doubt every entryway into Gotham was blocked, mainly just the bridges. Bane couldn't have cameras installed on every street of Gotham in addition to his men and the army making sure people got out or in. Also, being Batman I am sure he knows every single crack of Gotham city and knows the most secret paths and ways back to Gotham. After all, Bruce is no ordinary citizen of Gotham, we have seen him in all parts of Gotham throughout this trilogy. It is hardly surprising he got back to Gotham at all actually after thinking about all that.

It continues to amuse me reading all of the supposed "plot holes" that really aren't, and can be explained by a little common sense and by paying attention to the film. While there are indeed some holes/problems with the editing, there really are no more than any other film; in fact, I would argue that there are fewer. |
