Also it would be easier to watch this TV show using the Vudu app since I have it in my Vudu account as well and Vudu at least shows the progress bar under each episode so I know how much of it I watched without testing to see if I already watched the episode, but unfortunately this TV show is only in SD in the Apple TV's Vudu app even though I own it in HDX, so that's not an option for me at this time.
Or he could just watch a whole episode? I know it sounds extreme but...........

It was more in response to the "logic" behind why my quote was included. Not that it's inclusion is some huge problem or anything, but he has this weird thing about feeling the need to include at least the last couple of quotes (including his own) in a back and forth conversation in his replies, or in cases like this one, including quotes that, at best, have some extremely loose "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" connection to the quote that he is actually directly responding to. It's one thing to include multiple quotes from others if you are directly responding to them all, but this is just pointless.

At one point when I questioned him on some of these weird (IMO) habits, his reasoning is that it was the common way to do things on discussion boards and similar for those participating in them WAY back before the internet was really even a "thing" that most people were even aware of, let alone had access to.

For a guy who claims and assumes himself to be so forward thinking about movies and applicable technology, and acting like people still buying discs are buying some terrible "obsolete" technology that will be completely useless in the near future (because as if a scenario were to even occur where the vast majority of people stop buying discs entirely, the ones that we have now will just suddenly stop working because of that... [/sarcasm]), he is REALLY hung up on obscure posting habits that were never mainstream at ANY point in the past, let alone presently.

It seems like my blu-ray player usually remembers where I left off when watching a TV series. I often see that "resume playback" message. I don't depend on that, though, as I have not had any trouble relying on my own memory.

Alchav is just stressed because he knows Digital is way down the quality ladder. Besides, my players better bloody last for a long time. I have close to 800 discs after my recent captures. . That’s a lot of entertainment and I’m not even close to some collectors on here. Disc is going nowhere.

Slightly off topic but I was reading that video game discs are making a comeback sales wise because people are being crushed with data caps and slow connections. This was in the UK but it suprised me as I thought data caps were more a US thing.

I went to Best Buy today, it had been a few weeks. I was shocked how small the Bluray/DVD section had shrunk. They had been relegated to the back corner. I guess digital is taking over.

Not in the US they're not. That's why Gamestop is getting desperate trying to do rentals to get people in the store.

Oh dear, this digital stuff really isn’t panning out very well is it? I imagine the next Alien film will be a PG and you can forget any hardcore stuff from Fox if Disney get their claw in. Disney doesn’t do R rated.

This is being discussed in another thread.
This possible takeover has more implications than streaming, so I'm not sure why you have to bring digital into it. I'll believe it when I see it though. Everyone was so sure T-Mobile and Sprint were merging in the states, but it was called off. Talks are dead as of now.

Sorry, I'm too busy watching 75" TV prices plummet faster than a Chinese space station.

It's insane. TVs are getting bigger and better and cheaper every year.

I have a main TV, a projector and two garage TVs that I use mostly for sports and family gatherings. When it's time to replace those two garage TVs I'm probably be able to snag a decent (not videophile level but decent) 75" LCD for about a grand or I could 'settle' for two new 65"s for about the same amount.

That's ridiculous. Talk about an embarrassment of riches.

Yeah there are some 4K beauts at the moment. Picking on up myself next year and projector. My current one has seen better days.

The TV app on the Apple TV has an Up Next section but lately has not been updating what I'm currently watching including TV episodes I'm currently watching or the next episode after I'm done watching a previous episode and has been failing to add or update resume points in stuff I watched lately, so I can't rely on TV app as these issue make it useless for me for TV episodes and movies.

Steedeel you're back, and knocking Digital HD again along with your Buddies. You guys came down on me when I only had a 1080i DLP TV, so I went out and bought a 65" Sony UHD TV. The Quality of my Digital Movies is Fantastic, so I am not stressed out at all. I think the stress is with the Disc Lovers, because they see Digital taking over. I still say it's all Digital, and the natural order is putting Movies on a Server. So you Stream from a Disc or you Stream from a Server.....You tell Me!

I'm seriously considering going back to physical media for buying movies and just buying a 4k Blu-ray Player, and keep my Apple TV 4K for streaming. Most of the movies I bought digitally, just don't do it for me for image quality but I've tried to put up with it. However, since I can't get iTunes home sharing to work reliably between my PC and Apple TV 4k even with a static IP address set for my PC, I'm very close to giving up on digital purchases. I prefer not to rely on an internet connection/online server for watching my digital purchases. iTunes home sharing being quirky on me is probably going to be the last straw for me with digital media purchasing. I'm considering a Sony X800 Blu-ray player if I do decide to go back to physical media.
