How was the trigger switch supposed to make it do it on demand anyway? Both were fairly stupid making it an 'ordinary' nuclear weapon instead of the stability issue Bane and Pavel mention in dialogue.

Who cares? It was a cool flick and still one of the year's best, in my opinion.

This seems to be some kind of new internet phenomenon, where people on the internet take anything that isn't exhaustively explained, nor needs to be, call it a "plot hole" and whine about it to no end even though it's pretty obvious to anyone capable of thought (which is also why the director didn't spend 10 minutes digressing into the gory details)

I didn't detect any plothole in TDKR. Watched it twice already and I understand it perfectly. As for lacking logic, it's an action/adventure-film with sci fi elements, based on superhero-comics - what would possibly dictate that anything in it needs to be realistic or logical? I think it plays out fine.

I wouldn't call them plot holes when it comes to the Nolan films...just terrible story telling.

I didn't think it was very good, but that doesn't make a narrative shortcut or a standard-issue movie trope a plot hole
To me the serious issues were not any plot specifics, but the overall plot, the structure, the dialog, etc.

Thanks for clearing that up....

I guess I need to reexamine the overall plot because I still don't have a problem with it. It's better than Ra's plot in Begins.

How did Bruce Wayne suddenly become 30 years younger I'm not sure, but I almost think they put a scene from 2 movies ago into the new movie; how did this careless handling of time and space make it past the filmmakers

This!

This is so spot on. I'm almost considering putting this in my sig. I am so with you, it really has gotten ridiculous. It's like one person started it and everyone took off and ran with it and now it's used for every movie. You can take every movie and say they have tons of plot holes in them. People take movies way too serious. Movies are 2 hours sometimes over 2 hours. They aren't books, everything is not going to be explained and handed to you on a silver platter. People don't want to use their brains and common sense on things like 'how did Bruce get back to Gotham?' Instead they just simply call it a plot hole. It's ridiculous.

I wouldn't call them plot holes either, but there are certainly scenes and plot elements that defy human logic. I mean, even the first few mins of TDK starts off with one glaring WTF. The Joker stuffs a grenade into the bankers mouth and he leaves it there??? There's nothing stopping him from spitting it out, or even better, using his hands which are completely free to throw it away. I doubt he was aware that it was a smoke/gas grenade and thus wouldn't explode, but even if he did, why would he leave it in his mouth? And then The Joker just drives the school bus perfectly in line with the rest of school buses and none of the other drivers hesitate for a second that this particular school bus is coming out of a bank wall.

So yeah, not plot holes, but really "turn your brain off and just accept it's a movie" kind of scenes.

I think a guy dressing up in a suit, designed to look like a bat, is a pretty big plot hole.

Talk about lobbing a grenade!

Finally some common sense. Yes this film is fiction but Nolan's so called reality take on the character would have us believe that a cities entire police force is corrupt, cannot stop one man with gas and dynamite then allow themselves to be trapped underneath a pile of rubble. I love these movies but the world they exist in is full of incompetent buffoonery.
