The polls don't, and we all know that's what we refer to when we say "undisputed". Of course some wackos might "dispute" that Auburn was the national champion in 2010, but the polls do not.

Things were FAR from undisputed in 2007 when there were a half a dozen teams who had two losses, just like LSU, and who had just as nice of a resume to be in the "title game."

2008 was also FAR from undisputed when Utah went undefeated and kicked the crap out of Alabama in their BCS game.

So, I dispute your claim of "undisputed" over the past 6 years that the SEC has the MNC.

Typically when one is using the term "undisputed" with regards to a college football national championship.... they are stating that it was not a split title. I would doubt there has ever been a single national championship ever where some pundit somewhere didn't agree with it.

It's not a national championship though, it's a BCS championship. There's a reason they don't use the world "national" when referring to the BCS championship game.

The full title of the game is the BCS National Championship Game. The winner of the game gets the AFCA National Championship Trophy.

I stand corrected. For some reason, I was thinking they weren't allowed to call it the national championship because of a lawsuit, but I must have gotten something mixed up. Sorry about that.

Typically since the BCS era started in 1998 there are two sources/polls that trump all others in crowning national championships. One is the BCS/Coaches Poll and the other is the AP poll champion. In that respect the one and only split championship year was 2003 when USC was AP champ and LSU the BCS champ. It's all a matter of opinion but given the system we have (that stinks) I consider the winner or the AP and BCS to be the consensus national champion. I believe the only BCS conference school to ever run the table and not win a national title was 2004 Auburn.

That being said the BCS is still miles better than the pre-BCS era. In the decade prior to 1998 we had 3 split national champions, in addition to the 1994 Penn St. team getting hosed. To this day I think the 1994 team was the best team Paterno ever had.

The Wizards have a better chance at a title in the near future than Maryland. I believe Maryland will stink again next year and fire Randy Edsall and have to start a rebuilding process. Their AD deserves to get fired for choosing Edsall over Mike Leach (or even James Franklin).

Yeah it must kill Maryland's athletic department to see what Frankin did in one year with Vanderbilt in the SEC of all conferences. Not to mention he has a very respectable recruiting class coming in, how the hell is he pulling a top 25 class at Vandy? Sorry supersix4.

I didn't even realize that. Sure enough Vandy is 25th right now in the nation with their 2012 class. Every single year from 2003-2011 Vanderbilt was dead last 12th/12 teams in recruiting in the SEC. All of a sudden in 2012 they're a solid 8th/12 and ranked 25th best class in the nation.

It looks like Gunner Kiel, the nation's top-ranked high school quarterback, is switching his commitment again. Kiel originally committed to Indiana but switched it late last year to LSU. Kiel was expected to show up for an early football enrollee meeting yesterday at LSU and start classes today but he never showed up, and now it appears he will be starting classes at Notre Dame this week. There's still no official word on Kiel's plans but a Notre Dame RA reportedly said Kiel is moving in today. The link says Kiel wanted to go to LSU but his mom got emotional when he was getting ready to leave and wanted her son closer to home (they live in Indiana).

Dayne Crist was the #3 QB in his class (behind Terrelle Pryor and Blaine Gabbert) and never panned out.
