Did anyone mention how it can be embarrassing for that person to be taking a photo in a shop.

In this day and age? Not really. I've taken some pics in stores when I've had reason to.

And I've seen far weirder things than that.

I saw some girl taking a "selfie" at Arby's not too long ago... because you know, being at Arby's is SO cool that people have to brag about it on Facebook!

And a couple/few years ago, when those Coke machines that have like well over 100 soda options came out, my wife and I were at a Wendy's which had one. There was some other group of people who apparently drove out of their way to get there to see/use this machine, and one guy was so excited about it he hugged it while someone else took his pic.

Taking a pic of something on a shelf? No where near as weird IMO.

But it’s not just a picture of a shelf. It’s the store and several rows and how busy it is on that particular day. It’s really bizarre that you guys want proof? I’m sure Tob will confirm that HMV is quite a big deal in his part of the world also. It sells a hefty number of Blu-ray Discs. What exactly am I proving here? That it Exists? That it sells Blu-ray? That it was busy on the day I said it was? It’s like me denying that a Best Buy or Walmart existss In The U.S.

There is plenty of HMV stores located around the UK. But HMV Ireland's brick & mortar business in recent years have all vanished in the Republic of Ireland. The reason for this is that it switched to an online business as the physical stores became expensive to run because of low customer demand & made substantial losses for the owners; Hilco Entertainment Ireland.

Hilco Ireland's rental stores Xtravision were tied up with HMV Ireland as well. Xtravision was for the most part a home video rental business; but all of their stores have shut down with HMV's physical stores in the Republic of Ireland. Irish customers in effect cannot rent home video from the physical stores anymore as it has effectively been wiped out.

Xtravision do have vending machines available to rent DVD's at locations all across Ireland.

There is one HMV store available left presently in Belfast; but that is in Northern Ireland. The difference with the store in Belfast is that they sell all of their products primarily in British pounds rather than Euros because Northern Ireland is part of the UK.

So long as Thornton's fudge is real, I'm content. Wish I could get some here.

Rentals have been dead for years here. It’s just Amazon, ITunes, Sony store, Google Play, Microsoft or Sky. With Sky if you buy a film you get the Blu-ray or dvd through the post also. It’s been a success. Netflix and prime killed rentals

I don't think you get the Blu ray only the Dvd Steedeel with Sky Store.

Twinkies are forgettable, but you can even get them deep fried here. In 'Murica we deep fries everything.

I've recently gotten into rentals through VOD (mainly Vudu, but also fandango and amazon) and I love it.

I love being able to watch films for a cheap price that didn't get a theatrical release or if it did it's very limited (Just the past months alone rented: Shot Caller, Brawl in Cell Block 99, Super Dark Times, and last night rented The Villainess and Blade of the Immortal)

I’m not really a rental guy. I will normally just wait for the bluray or as of next year, The 4K disc. I can wait as I prefer blind buys. If it is not getting a disc release I will rent digitally but that’s very rare these days.

I don't like blind buys. I mean I had a few in the DVD days but that was canon stuff.

I don't want to spend $13.99 on some indie I may not like that most likely won't get a 4k disc (brawl being a rare exception).

I do wish they had an option though if you liked the rental to get the digital purchased at a discounted price.

I rented it for $6.99, I don't want to spend another $13.99 if I liked it.
