You shouldn't even have to go back and forth... every company I've ever dealt with either just sends another copy right away or asks you to send the defective disc in and then sends a new one...

I remember buying this when a West Coast Video near me went out of business. It's still in my top 10 list of worst movies I've seen.

I'm gonna post a video on YouTube displaying this error in motion and then email that to Mr. DeFalco when I get a chance.

this is like when reagan and then later trump used springsteen's "born in the usa" during their campaigns without realizing it was actually highly critical of the u.s. some people tend to stop at the surface level.

Its all about perception and most people tend to stop at the surface level.

Hence a song highly critical of the US may actually be perceived as highly patriotic due to the simple song title and album cover prominently featuring an American flag.

Thus despite the contents due to the surface perception it is successfully at making people feel patriotic. Although truthfully the ability to be critical of a place you live without fear of persecution and instead gaining fame actually should spur patriotic feelings as it celebrates one of the best aspects of the USA (free speech).

I noticed on facebook that Damon Packard is putting together the drive-in reel for the next Dark Force double feature. I hope it turns out better than the last few. The first drive-in disc had a decent looking intermission. I like that kinda stuff. It seems that all the subsequent releases just used crappy looking videos that were taken off the internet. It would be nice if the next one is a step up in quality. I know you can do it, Demon Dave! Be a hero! Do it for the fans.

Looks like Demon and the Dark Force team are looking into my disc's playback issue now.

Hopefully i'll get a replacement copy after all.

It is kinda crappy that the version they centered all their promotion around is the one with playback issues on my copy.

I've written a song about Dark Force Entertainment that I'd like to share with everyone. It's called "Money Money."

Here she comes now sayin' Money Money
Slithis down, turn around, come on Money
Hey she give me love and I feel all right now
Come on, you gotta toss and turn
And feel all right, yeah I feel all right
I said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Cause you make me feel
So good, so good, so good
So fine, so fine
It's all mine, well I feel all right
I said yeah, yeah, the Electric Chair

Well you could "hide and go shriek" with Money Money
Shotgun dead and I'll come on home yeah
Don't stop cookin' 'cause I feel all right now
Don't stop now with your glow-in-the-dark Dead Pit slipcovers
Come on yeah, I said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Cause you make me feel
So good, so good, so good
So fine, so fine
It's all mine, the profits from scalping Code Red titles, well I feel all right
I said yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I love you Money mo-mo-money

Quote:
“Mony Mony” means nothing – literally nothing. In the late ’60s, Tommy James and the Shondells crafted the tune as a party song, with an emphasis on the beat and little thought given to the shout-along nonsense lyrics. Was “Mony” a girl? Was “Mony” a command? Was this a secret reference? Actually, none of the above. It was an acronym for the Mutual of New York Insurance Company (M-O-N-Y), whose illuminated sign gave James the idea for the title of the 1968 hit.

But to William Michael Albert Broad – better known as Billy Idol – “Mony Mony” always meant sex. That’s because when young William was 14, he lost his virginity in a public park via a tumble with a more experienced partner. He recalled in his autobiography, Dancing With Myself: “As we went at it, ‘Mony Mony’ by Tommy James and the Shondells was playing on someone’s transistor radio nearby…”
https://diffuser.fm/billy-idol-mony-mony/

I'm with you. I've never once heard "Money" only "MONY" and as the above explanation states, it doesn't actually mean anything. The word "MONY" may have been named after the Mutual of New York Insurance Company sign near Eigth avenue in New York, but beyond that none of the versions of the song actually assign any true meaning to the word MONY. They exist as little more than a catchy hook/lyric.

He fails to mention that he bought this movie almost 3 months ago and is just now noticing a bad glitch at the 27 minute mark. Needless to say we have almost sold the entire run of this title and not one came back defective. Nonetheless we will look into it and see what we can do for the Gas Mask Avenger.

Defective discs happen all the time. Who cares if he watched it three months later? Many of us buy 5-10 titles a month, and don’t get a chance to watch them immediately. Hell, I have hundreds of titles sealed from years ago. Just send him a replacement or refund him his money. If not I’m sure he could just get it back through PayPal or Credit Card. Don’t make an @$$ of yourself.

I can appreciate this request and personally I'd be in favor of a standard store front that allowed customers to purchase new films as they are listed but I understand the idea behind this style of marketing. One need only step into the Vinegar Syndrome thread and read through the last few pages to see FOMO in full effect. As someone that has seen his share of hysteria over slipcovers during the last 7-8 years on these forums, and as someone that has on occasion purchased them to flesh out a collection, reading through the comments in that thread has taken things to a whole other level.

My only hope right now is that The Dead Pit slip can live up to the hype and feels/looks as prestigious as it's being marketed.

Honestly, if I brought this issue up a year or two later, I would totally understand the inability to help, but honestly I just chalk this up as a pure freak accident on my copy.

Chaos and the Code Red titles I own are all 100% playback error free, so me having a badly engineered pressing of The Last Victim is totally a pure "margin of error" screwup I don't really blame you for.

I'm guilty of this too. My backlog is huge. Sometimes it's years later until I can get to some stuff. Usually don't open mine until I'm ready to watch them.

I own 4 DF releases (not including their CR stuff). All of them are still unwatched.

My backlog is currently at 864 titles, this doesn’t include titles I’ve preordered or recently ordered and haven’t received yet so it’s probably closer to 875. I’m still catching up on discs that I bought in 2014... I’m not sure I’ll ever catch up...

My oldest unwatched title is currently the Planet Earth set in case you were wondering. 537 minutes is a lot of time to set aside so it’ll probably stay that way for a long while. I do need to make time to watch Kill or Be Killed though, it’s near the top of my watch list.

Because you stated it directly when you said, "You are the first person I've every heard say that song was about money, or that people thought it was about money." Unless you were being overly literal, and were only talking about hearing, with your ears, the specific words, "That song is about money", then you have never seen a film or show using that song as a play-along to moments involving money, use of money, usually theft of money, but money in all the cases you would have to have missed for me to be the very first person to ever bring that up, in your whole life.

As to a song being a literal translation, I have no idea what you are talking about. Films tend to be artistic in nature. Think more word association and less literal translation.

Who would have thought, the resident autistic on the board is not the most afflicted with being overly literal. Of course, I would have had the same kind of literal-loop-logic flooding my brain when I was younger. Abstract thinking rocks. Anyway, that should clarify it for you Kraven.
