Which TV for $3k?? - Blu-ray Forum

Ok guys here's the deal. My living room viewing area is 12 feet from the tv. The room is never brightly lit. I play ps3 games and blurays 10 hours or more a week and the rest of my viewing is hd content on directv. I currently own a 56" samsung dlp that is 3 years old. I just replaced the bulb and have no issues with the tv but am ready to step up to newer technology. I have $3k available on my bb account and could pony up more if necessary. I want at least a 55" tv. I have a two year old samsung plasma 50" a450 I believe, up in the bedroom. I hate the image retention! Are the higher end/newer plasmas better with this issue than they were? I am scared to drop that kind of cash on a plasma and be in the same boat. What would you buy and why?

Do you have an audio setup? If not, I would spend 2k on a nice panny plasma or sammsung LCD (depending on preference) and put the rest into audio. 50% of the magic of blu is the audio!

Audio is done. Denon 3808, deftech bp7002's, clr 2500, bpx2 surrounds. sorry I should have stated audio is done.

You really can not go wrong with any of the TV's above. It is going to come down to what looks good to you! Demo time!

Don't forget about the Pioneer KRP-600M. There are still some left, but they are going quick.

Hey, if you get the 111FD, you will have almost the exact same setup as me

Ya that would be cool, but no best buys in the vegas area have em any more. Plus I am looking for 55" or larger.
