I have to double-check but I think it was after fighting several waves of soliders in large open areas (low, mid and high-levels to this area). You get to carry around the large gun with unlimited ammo for a while. Then you go up to higher levels and you have to defeat more bad guys. After that I think I went through a large door and the area is essentially like a large enclosed area but the floor space you're fighting on really seems like you're in a pay-per-view fighting event or something. It's essentially a square area with railings boxing you in and there are a couple of columns that provide some cover. The guy attacking just has the special suit like I'm wearing, a spear type weapon, and is carrying a clear shield at all times. When he first attacks, you automatically block his attack and it tells you a certain button to press repeatedly but after that, he pretty much kills me easily unless I keep dodging him. If I last long enough, he seems to summon energy/electricity from surrounding areas and charges his spear. He'll throw it at me and I thought that was the key. After he throws it, the spear is still charged so I charged my glaive on it and threw it at the guy. It did seem to weaken him or maybe it was the shield that seemed to weaken (I'll have to go through it again to know for sure). But, at one point, I had a clear shot at him and emptied a clip at point-black range (with the special shells that do more damage) and nothing seemed to help. I also don't see weak-points on him like a lot of the other bosses/mini-bosses. The last time, I tried to get through it, I completely ran out of ammo so I only had the glaive to use for the last few minutes I survived. That makes me think he can be defeated with that since there isn't any more ammo anywhere around and he's attacking with essentially just that spear.

Oh, I think the guy I'm fighting is the Nemesis.

I cant remember the fight too well since it was like 6 m onths ago. I remember you had to charge the glaive on something. then you dance around and dodge his melee attacks. Eventually he will throw is glave at you. Roll out of the way and then attack him with the charged glaive. He should be vulnerable after he throws his glave.

An old thread but I just got around to trying to complete the game recently. I'm stuck on the boss battle in Chapter 9 though. So, I've mostly been running around the rink trying to figure out what to do but that gets old pretty quick.

Any tips?

I remember exactly who you are talking about. Don't even bother shooting, it is a waste of ammo. All you have to do is dodge his attacks and wait until he throws the lightning charged spear. Then, you charge you glaive and hit him with it. You'll have to hit him with a charged glaive about 2 times to knock him down. When he is down you run up to him and do the action thing. You'll have to do this about 3 times total to defeat him. Really easy battle. It is pretty much just dodging attacks and then hitting him with the lightning glaive.

That helped a lot. Thanks! It still took me a few more tries to get past it but I did eventually defeat it. Seeing who Nemesis was really surprised me. I also couldn't believe the chapter didn't end after that but the rest wasn't too bad. Of course, now I'm stuck (in chapter 10) on what I think is probably the final battle but hopefully I'll figure this one out myself.

Resurrecting an old post but did anyone enjoy this game as much as me? I thought it was really good at the time and was hoping for a sequel but I've heard nothing.
