The only reason my mind doesn't completely boil over and flow out through my ears at the thought of this classic 80's horror tribute-spoof movie getting remade is that the original would be given a respectful release in high-definition format. So the studio isn't even bothered to do that now? GRRRRR!

Count me in. Fright Night is one of my top 20 most wanted titles. Heck I'll even take the sequel too.

The sequel was given a full frame, bare bones release on DVD, and it has been OOP for years. It's about time it got a Blu-Ray.

Like Clash of the Titans and Tron, this might come out the same time as the remake's release on Blu-ray?

I hear ya. Been waiting for the original for a while now too. When it does eventually come out, don't expect a full-blown special edition. Writer/director Tom Holland didn't have a good relationship with Columbia at the time of its release back in '85 and still doesn't. Google FRIGHT NIGHT commentaries. There are two: One with the Holland and some of the cast and another with just part of the cast. Really good stuff. Won't see this on the blu-ray for sure. Some horror nut put together these "pirate" commentaries around two years ago.
