I think they mean that the general tone was a little more light-hearted, colorful, and "fun" compared to other Trek adventures, more akin to a Star Wars epic. The space battles for instance did look more like Revenge of the Sith than anything we've ever seen in a Trek film.

Hmm. I agree that the visual look had a bit of a Star Wars pallate, but I find your choice of words interesting. I personally wouldn't describe Revenge of the Sith as light-hearted and fun compared to Star Trek IV.

Anyway, I agree with you, just find your choice of words interesting.

I like the new cover a lot more than the old cover, but it really doesn't matter what the cover looks like because this is my most anticipated bluray regardless of what the cover is.

November 17th is gonna be awesome!

I agree with most of you. Doesn't matter much what the cover art looks like. At least U.S. covers don't have the ridiculous classification codes like we do in Australia.

I will be picking this up also. Although, if I were to pick, I'd pick the Blue over the Black. IMO.

The new cover is at least simple, beats some kind of photoshop attempt of throwing in every cast member along with a few scenes of action, the title and about 4 generic quotes form critics like "It's the thirllride of the summer" or "The best {insert franchise title here] movie yet"

so you see it could be much worse

On one hand, nice to see they're not gonna use that same image of the Enterprise that's been used to death. But don't know about using only one of the character shots. I'm thinking that it'll end up being a Transformers like case with the other side being a similar style pic of Spock.

But I'm just wondering, the Enterprise case looked to be a slipsleeve, while this looks to be just a regular Elite case, so, could the Enterprise be a slipsleeve and the Kirk image be underneath?

While I appreciate good cover art, it's the least important thing. I could not care less what the cover looks like. I'll be picking it up day one.
