Well, if you take a close look at the add you see that they are using the word STEELBOOK as a trademark since they have also printed the "™" symbol with it. Since the only mark for STEELBOOK is registered by Glud & Marstrand in Denmark then I'm with others that this will indeed be an actual SteelBook with the only question being whether it will be DVD or Blu-ray size. My hope is that each version (DVD and BD) will get packaged with its corresponding steel and packaged the same way that the Spirit steel was packaged.

I was mentioning it as a best-case scenario in terms of getting an actual BD sized steelbook rather than a one-size fits all steelbook (more likely to be DVD size since they will probably sell more DVDs than BDs for this one). I doubt that this offer is for a full package where the disc comes inside the steelbook. I think the Spirit format is the more likely scenario IMO.

P.S. I don't know, but it seems to me that if you don't open your Steelbooks then you are collecting cases

I know it looks like Disney is trying to push the Blu-ray DVD combo with this one to get people who would normally buy just the DVD version to go with the combo because they just can't wait. They are releasing a combo in a DVD size case, so I am not sure what this will look like. Hopefully it will be Blu-ray size to appeal to the Blu-ray buyers.

I did mention this in the Best Buy thread in the Hot Deals forum. Could it be that when you pre-order this in the store, you get the steelbook rightaway. I know in the past they have given things free right away with their preorder offers. You pay $5 deposit and you get something free to. They did this with Watchmen and the buttons they had. The ad says available Sunday Aug 30th. It would be cool if we could see it before having to commit to buying it.

Well I think the point was, if you keep the thing sealed, you never even see anything except the case.

I guess but instead of $5 it has to be $7.50. I'm excited for this. And the poster of the picture said something about it being made for the Blurays so it's probably Bluray sized, which I am hoping for.

I kind of figured they would. The wording of the ad kind of suggests it and they have done stuff like that in the past. Give them something now and the rest later will have lots of people preordering. I will be there when they open Sunday!
