But still, no one made her go.. Common sense should have told her that this was a very shaky mission. In one of his speeches on tape while in the wilderness he stated how dangerous his job was and that the animals are unpredictable. I think he knew there was that possibility, but at the same time he wanted to live his dream so I guess he got what he wanted.. People bungee jump and sky dive for that thrill, even though their life depends on that parachute or bungee cord. I guess the thrill of it all just covers up the danger.

Would any of you listen to the tape?!?!?
It would only be noisy until the head is gone. Then just munch...munch...munch.

I understand your point. However, Amie was a very naive person, an innocent. Sometimes larger personalities (Treadwell) can easily sway naive people to do things that may go against there better judgement. She was fascinated by him. And if you watch the film, you will see why.

You're funny. You have the movie and won't watch it. All is revealed in it, including the audio and some video.

Ill probably watch it tonight.. From what I understand however, not much info regarding the death is revealed so It probably wont have what I was searching for. But I believe the only existing tape was destroyed by one of his family members.

Anyways, I look forward to watching this in full.. Hes an interesting guy.

Report back. I'd be curious to see if you still think he's an interesting guy after you watch the film.

The death is highly covered in the film.

Thumbs up

Grizzly Man is a great documentary that I cannot wait to add to my Blu-ray library. I was completely absorbed from first frame to last.

Werner Herzog is perhaps the best director alive. I have seen most of his works and never felt disappointed.
Grizzly Man is no different, it's a great documentary BUT I own it already on DVD. I dunno if the upgrade worths the 15-20 bucks you'd have to pay for the BD. I mean most of the movie (especially Timothy Treadwall footage) was shot on video and the rest in 16 mm. the BD probably would look a tad better than the DVD but not much better.
Only the addition of new supplements could make me re-evaluate a purchase of Grizzly Man on BD.

For those who haven't seen it, don't hesitate; Buy it or rent it on DVD or BD when released. You won't be disappointed either way.

I can't find a review of the Blu anywhere. I really enjoy the film and was going to ask for the Blu for a gift, but I can't imagine that it's worth the upgrade though, because most of the film was shot with Treadwell's video camera. Does anyone own or seen both the DVD and Blu and have an opinion?

Anyone buying this documentary on blu ray should simply be aware that there are two separate releases out there, put out several years apart. The older 2009 Revolver release is on a BD-25 disc and does not appear to have subtitles, whereas the newer 2015 Lionsgate release is on a BD-50 disc, reports one minute longer run-time, and contains English SDH subtitles, if that matters to you. Just FYI. I grabbed a copy of the 2015 disc, but do not have the 2009 disc to compare.

Default BLU RAY Region

Those of you who have copies of the disc, I cannot find a straight answer on the net about what regions the blu rays are. Multiple places have differing information. If you know, am I correct that the 2009 release is region free (or at least playable in region A) and the 2015 is Locked Region B.

Any info is super helpful.

Thanks!

yeah, here and a Swedish site I found say it will, but multiple other sites that have it for sale says its only region b. Amazon has a region warning on it as well (for both releases). So I thought I'd try and get some first hand info before I buy.

thanks for the quick replies. Supper appreciated!!
