I was on the fence about getting a GO, but this news is just too unbearable to ignore.
No second analog stick, smaller screen, no backwards compatibility, bigger price point, not able to switch extra batteries on long trips. I say No GO ![]() |

Hey,
I've been thinking a bit about the PSP Go lately and now that I read through this thread.... looks kind of bleak. Still... I bet it's very popular anyway. I sort of hope it's the definition of failure. Everyone seems so convinced physical media will be replaced by downloads and I don't believe it or I don't want to. Guess I'm old fashioned. -Brian |

See for me, it's not so much about being able to download, it's the fact that I won't have to carry all those UMD's around anymore. Also, not having to switch the games out everytime I want to play a different game. I hated when I would go on a trip or something and have to carry all those UMD's.

In my opinion, of course. I was already disappointed by Sony's price gouging but now that Sony is having legal and technical issues delivering a UMD transfer program for PSPGo buyers, there's really no incentive to go PSPGo over just PSP. |

Just because it doesn't appeal to you, doesn't mean it's DoA. Same with the hardware changes listed in the first post of this thread. Example: some may prefer the half-inch larger screen, I'd rather have the higher PPI crispness, minor PSP-3000 scanlines issue resolved and best contrast. It's a bit of fail by Sony... that'd be like if the new slim PS3's couldnt play any pre-existing PS3 games that you had.
It is a positive that you don't have to carry around UMD's if you're traveling or something, but at the same time people who have a ton of games may be less liable to upgrade to the GO |

The downside is the second hand sell through which, i think, Sony could sort out (but they wont) through the PSN. You could have a second hand store on the PSN which you upload your game to (or Sony would just make available on your behalf seeing as they're all stored there anyway) and basically the PSP would automatically delete your copy as soon as you "tick the box" for it to be sold. It then goes on the PSN for sale for whatever price you choose, and the funds go to your PSN account. You'd never have anyone complain that it was scratched or in bad condition in fact you'd never have to get involved with the customer cause it would all be done through the PSN. ![]() |

Well I always thought it was overrated. To me at least the PSP GO is aimed at new owners. For those who have a PSP already, why do you need another? Ive pretty satisfied with my 2000 and have no desire to get a Go. The 2 significant additions to it is the smaller size and the digital gaming. I never had an issue with the Slim's size as its much better than the original. As for the 2nd part, well all PSPs already have the ability to download the games

I agree with what you are saying. Supposedly on oct 1 they will have 250 games available including the minis. So, that sounds a little promising considering there are only around 80-90 now. I'll believe it when I see it though.

Furthermore, the NIS stuff is just an example. The other games I play I've heard no words on (like Rock Band: Unplugged, and GTA:Vice/Liberty City Stories) Last edited by Terjyn; 09-26-2009 at 05:46 PM. |

Yeah. Here you go.
http://psp.ign.com/articles/102/1028647p1.html September 25, 2009 - The PSP has seen a number of revisions over the course of its existance, and the PSPgo is the latest evolution of the system that's hitting retail in less than two weeks. With the system's launch right around the corner, Sony sent us a small note that detailed a few pieces of juicy information that PSP fans might find interesting. On October 1st in North America, 16,000 pieces of digital content will be available for the PSPgo. This includes 225 downloadable games (which is a combination of full PSP titles, PSN exclusives, UMD legacy titles and Minis), 2,300 movies and 13,300 television episodes. Key titles that will be available for download on day one include Gran Turismo, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and God of War: Chains of Olympus. Also, PlayStation Network Game Cards (voucher codes that allow users to download full PSP games) will be available in stores to give players another method for purchasing content. Games that will be made availabe in this fashion include Gran Turismo, Daxter, Patapon 2, Secret Agent Clank and Twisted Metal: Head-on. Last edited by mike79; 09-26-2009 at 06:33 PM. |

Well, the current total, including PS1 games, is 148. They're going to put up 77 titles next week?! Usually the store update goes up later if they're putting up more than four or five... good luck Sony.
This may sound funny, but I'm hoping they pad out the number games with a bunch of PS1 titles... ![]() ![]() |
