Current anticipated Platinum Release Schedule (Speculation based on some fact):-

Oct/Nov 07 - The Jungle Book DVD only
Feb/Mar 08 - 101 Dalmatians DVD only
Oct/Nov 08 - Sleeping Beauty Blu Ray & DVD
Feb/Mar 09 - Pinocchio Blu Ray & DVD
Oct/Nov 09 - Snow White Blu Ray & DVD
Feb/Mar 10 - Fantasia Blu Ray & DVD
Oct/Nov 10 - Beauty and the Beast Blu Ray & DVD

We know for a fact the first 3 releases are correct.

Inbetween those platinums I would imagine will be various other 'lesser' regarded Disney classics such as Alice in Wonderland, Hunchback, Hercules, Tarzan etc.

I don't expect Pixar's schedule to be dictated by the Animated Classics in any way, nor the live action schedule.

Saying it's overrated isn't saying it's a terrible movie. The movie is quite good but I do think it is overrated especially with the ballroom scene.

I am entitled to my opinion. So are you.

There are many animated movies out there that deserves some attention like Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, Bambi and more. Pinocchio is incredibly underrated, I'm surprised they haven't released a Plantium edition of this one yet.

The Pixar films are under a different release control than the Disney animation, right?

I would expect Disney wouldn't release any classic animation on BD except part of the general "released from the vault" process along with another DVD release. The cost control is excellent with that process too, as a new master and any restoration work is already budgetted.

C'mon Disney, reconsider. Waiting another decade for them on BD is too much.

Actually Bob Iger has kind of come out and said that they are looking into a re-release of Song of the South. They are thinking with the correct explaination of the move and the time period that it was created in it could be re-released.

I really want 3 of the classic Disney movies:
Finding Nemo
Snow White
The Lion King
I could put one of those on for the kids and they'll be quiet and still while the movie is playing.

Lilo & Stitch.

Beauty & The Beast with all the extras from the Platinum Edition, with AVC and lossless audio. The DVD was great but overcompressed.

Sleeping Beauty all the way. Prince Charming versus the Dragon on Blu? Total sweetness. And especially the Great Mouse Detective, might not be a true Disney classic, but its one of my favs.

If nothing else this thread has proved that every Disney film is a classic.

Ooo-da-lolly! I forgot about that one!

Considering that Finding Nemo is the best-selling Pixar DVD of all time, and that Lion King is Disney's most valuable property, I would think both of those would be ideal candidates for BD release to capitalize on sales ASAP.

I hate Disney's 7-year embargo.

One movie I really want FANTASIA !
Of course it has to be remastered in full lossless audio. I don't care if they have to get the philadelphia orchestra to do those pieces over again !
-RIP Leopold Stokowski

Release Fantasia 2000 as well, but if they only do one, then the original is the one it should be.

Also Lion King and Aladdin were great movies. I wasn't much into the older stuff like Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella.

I actually think Atlantis and Treasure Planet have got alot going for them. They just aren't your typical Disney animated fare, but both very good, visually stunning films.

Good One. That's a really wierd flick & Sean Connery is incredibly young in it.
I'd buy that on Blu for sure.
