Only 2 votes for The Replacements?! Great movie. I could watch it a million times and not get sick of it!

I ended up voting for Rudy as opposed to Titans. although both are good and so many "historical" movies take tons of liberties with the true story, i was kind of turned off about what really happened for the Titans versus the movie. And this is not always the case for me for historical movies (my favorite movie is Braveheart and that is terribly innaccurate) but for some reason when i found that not much of Titans really was true, just got turned off. I'm sure there were plenty of liberties with Rudy too, but i don't know about them, so therefore i can suspend disbelief a while longer.

I'm going to list some liberties taken with Rudy, avert your eyes if you don't want to know:

One of the biggest antagonists in the movie was Rudy's brother Frank, who was a jerk to Rudy and kept dissuading him from playing football. In real life Frank was very nice and supportive of Rudy. In addition the scene with the players putting their jerseys on Dan Devine's desk saying they wanted Rudy to take their place never happened. There are some other small liberties but those are the 2 biggest.

Had to go with Friday Night Lights, it's one of the few movies where the team doesn't win the big game at the end and you can't help but fell bad for them when they get so close but don't score. For the "Any Given Sunday" fans or people who have seen it, Keep an eye out for T.O playing better than he has in years lol

I saw a clip from a high school football movie at a sales seminar. The coach had the team leader crawl on his knees blindfolded with another player on his back to prove they could do anything they put there mind to. They start at one end zone and after ten yards the lineman wants to stop. The coach gets in front of him on all fours and is screaming in his face "just five more yards to midfield". The kid is in pure agony but pushes on and when the coach says you made it he collapses tothe ground. The coach tells him to take of the blindfold and he realizes he went the whole field when he thought he only went 50. Pretty good stuff.

Anybody know the name of this film

Rudy easily.

Reading that list sort of surprised me how bad the sport has been on film.

My favorite would have to be- Disney's Gus (1978). How can you not love a movie that has a mule kicking field goals?!?

Friday Night Lights is my choice!

Favorite: The Longest Yard (1974)

Worst: The Longest Yard (2005)

The remake should have never been made. Uninspired.

Plus, Sandler's character made a crappy remark in the movie about Appalachian State... which happens to be my old college. (But App State went on a big winning streak after that and won their conference three times in a row. And even beat Michigan in the greatest upset in college football history-so screw you Adam Sandler)

Yeah, I'm bitter...
