Sorry Baron but i dont agree with you here. The Cut version is also "limited"
..still I think it would not influence the price on the "uncut" version...

Have a nice day

Hi John

Since you are in Germany, any idea how much this steelbook will cost before shipping when it is released next month?

Let's face it folks. The original Rambo has become the crown Jewel of Blu-Ray Steelbooks due to one Factor and one Factor only:

It got put on the German Index forcing Amazon to pull the plug on it after a mere few Weeks! Does anybody really believe that JR would be so "valuable" had it not gotten Indexed? I mean come on, the Movie really sucked!

So there will soon be 2 different JR Steelbooks in Circulation:

- The "Cut" may also be limited, but it can be optained in the Public and can also be put up in e-Bay.

- The Uncut will remain on the german Index and CANNOT be obtained publicly and it is not allowed to be put up at eBay (atleast not together with the film, so Factory Sealed is out of the Question).

But, like it has been said it is the Purchasers Willingness to pay that determines the so-called "Value".

We will see I guess....

Most of us couldn't care less if its cut or uncut so now we'll have over 4000 JR's instead of just the less the 2k from the Uncut version. Unless you are OCD though, people will go for the re release instead of the Uncut version which means the Uncut version will drop quite a bit in value.

Unless of course the re release will have an FSK Logo that isn't a sticker but even then it will still drop the value, but probably not as much.

I don't actually know the history of the JR uncut version so thanks for explaining. When you say it is uncut and got indexed, I assume that means it has too much violence that Germany banned it???

I understand there are many here that collect SB for the SB itself, and not necessarily for the movie within it. I actually only collect SB of movies that I like or want to watch, or those with nice coverart I haven't watched JR yet so I have a good reason to add this to my small SB collection if it does not cost an arm and a leg.

Does anyone know which release has the uncut version of the movie then? Not counting the amazon.de exclusive obviously since many of us can't afford it.

You got it! Being on the "index" in Germany means, that you can't purchase it anymore, because all retailers had to remove it off their stock. That's what happened to the uncut version of John Rambo, also Scarface uncut for example.

The US version of the movie is uncut............

Not to mention, why does everybody say the movie sucked, it's Rambo, it was what it was supposed to be.

One last time for the Idiots JK!!

It's part of the german Rating System. There's:

FSK0 = Free for all (Kinda like "Rated G")
FSK12 = For 12 years old and older
FSK18 = Kinda like what the name says

All from the FSK Approved Films can be put for sale openly (although FSK18 requires Identification by Purchase).

Then there's the Index: These Films are categorized as "Not Suitable" and may be purchased, but they cannot be made visible to the public meaning that they can only be kept behind the Counters. You have to explicitly ask for the Film. The Clerk will then bag it on the spot so it's not visible while walking to the Cashier and will escort you to the Register.

Since Amazon is an Online Retailer, this Caution cannot be performed as there is no 100% secure method of Age Verification for Online, therefore it would have been illegal for Amazon to continue selling the JR Steelbook. The Steelbook was released before the FSK could evaluate it, so it got evaluated about 2-4 Weeks after Release. Amazon had to remove the Steelbook from their Site so only the Steels sold in that short time are in Circulation.

Does that help you guys out?

obsessive compulsive disorder
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsessi...lsive_disorder

Quote:
Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder characterized by intrusive thoughts that produce anxiety, by repetitive behaviors aimed at reducing anxiety, or by combinations of such thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions). The symptoms of this anxiety disorder range from repetitive hand-washing and extensive hoarding to preoccupation with sexual, religious, or aggressive impulses. These symptoms can be alienating and time-consuming, and often cause severe emotional and economic loss. Although the acts of those who have OCD may appear paranoid and come across to others as psychotic, OCD sufferers often recognize their thoughts and subsequent actions as irrational, and they may become further distressed by this realization.
OCD is the fourth most common mental disorder and is diagnosed nearly as often as asthma and diabetes mellitus.[1] In the United States, one in 50 adults has OCD.[2] The phrase "obsessive–compulsive" has become part of the English lexicon, and is often used in an informal or caricatured manner to describe someone who is meticulous, perfectionistic, absorbed in a cause, or otherwise fixated on something or someone.[3] Although these signs may be present in OCD, a person who exhibits them does not necessarily have OCD, and may instead have obsessive–compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), an autism spectrum disorder or some other condition. The faces of OCD can range from difficulty with uneven numbers to nervous habits such as opening a door and closing it four times before one leaves it either open or shut.
