It would be nice to get her more involved. She usually overloads herself with "projects" that it is hard to get her involved in much. With the baby, her school work and other things she does after work, time is something she really doesn't have a lot of. So, it would be nice to get her more involved. I accept the fact that I don't get a lot of time to watch movies, especially with her/family. It doesn't bother me because when I do, I can really appreciate the stuff I have that much more.

Doing that right now, actually! My days are kinda like an open span of time between watching blus. Like many others round these parts, tonight's going to be a G.I. Joe night.

Hey, Todd. Glad to see you finally joined the "in crowd" and start your own thread.

Anyway, can't wait to see how your setup evolves during the various phases you have planned.

Well Forsberg, buddy,I get Paid Today. So I can send a couple of the Meteorite Specimens to you in the next day or two.

And dont forget to talk to your wife.Like I said I dont know if I can guarantee a piece for every student anymore(Since I haven't made any purchases or participated in any auctions in about 8 months)

But I can certainly supply some for her to take in and let the kids see.And perhaps have them as rewards for students doing the best with their studies and grades.

But I will really go through everything and see.If I take a larger fragment I could chisel it into smaller pieces.

So just talk to her.Or let her take a look at what you have coming in.I think if she sees those it would get her thinking about that and her students.

Then while you have some specimens,if you ever watch "Deep Impact" or "Armageddon" it would take on an entirely different meaning.

Thanks,Lou.My Friend .

I have a long ways to go.So far I have just taken Baby Steps. But I am hopeing things will gain momentum and get rolling at a good pace.

And I am pulling for you to get the Projector if its something you really want.I doubt it could compete with the Awesome B&W Speakers you have(especially those Amazing in wall Surrounds).

But it would be one of the Best Video Upgrades you could make. And it is really the Best Bang for Your Buck in any Upgrade you make to your System(Especially on the Video End).

Because even though I am using the $4.00 Wal Mart Sheet as my Screen currently. It makes a Tremendous Difference in Your System.

It was a Major Step in Making my System seem Much More Like a True Home Theater.

That Movie got some pretty good ratings from the Forum Review. Its a Blu-Ray I certainly want to add to my small collection when,I finally have a chance to start buying a Few Blus again.

For a while what Free Money I have had has been going to equipment upgrades. So I haven't been able to build up my library. In fact I had 47 Blus just a Few Months ago.But I Found I could make the component upgrades quicker by selling my Blu-Rays.

I am looking forward to hearing what the thoughts of Forum members were on how the Movie Was. Both the Audio Quality and the Video Quality.

So make sure to drop by the thread here and let me know how the movie was in your opinion.Because I didn't see this Movie at the Theater. So I am having to rely on members like yourself to let me know not only if I want to get it,but also how Quickly I want to get it.

Tals, you really don't need to go out of your way. I am not saying I don't appreciate it, because I do. I just hate to see you providing me these things whereas it would reduce your own collection. I can understand that these are rare and not easily gotten.

If you do send me the fragments, send me whatever you feel you can part with. I know my wife and her kids would greatly appreciate anything. She teaches the "gifted" kids (the really, really smart ones in grades 2-6) so they know more than I ever did at that age. Their curiculum is extremely flexible, and they do not follow a text. It is more theory, application and problem solving (believe it or not, these kids can easily do this in grades 2-6). Meteorites would be right up their alley and I'm sure they would be very interested in them.

Thanks again Tals!

We've all been there. I took many baby steps until this last purchase of speakers and amp. I'm just glad you have this forum with the knowledgeable people to discuss things with. When I was first starting out and for the past many years, all I had was what I read in magazines or possible found on line as far as reviews.

We have so many people with diverse backgrounds and experiences that we don't come across many fanboys who will try to shove a particular product down you throat. That is what I love about this group. They will recommend things that are best suited for the individual and their needs.

Well, anyway. Congrats on payday (Mine is on the 5th) and the upcoming purchase of the "official" screen. Hope the sheet can be recycled to the bed now and wasn't a complete waste of $4.00.

Hope you have a pleasant day and I'm sure we'll chat again today. It is my day of waiting for responses to me questions I asked yesterday, so it may be slow, steady, or get busy real quick all at once.

I saw that it got a decent review on the site. I saw it in the theatre and I liked it. Sure it had it's lame moments (what else would you expect from a Steven Sommers directed film?), but it was fast paced and enjoyable. I can honestly recommend it. I expect the visuals and the audio (especially the audio!!! ) will be top notch. Having some people over tonight to watch it. My meager 52" won't do it justice like your 84", but the projector will come in time. Right now I'm taking the opposite approach that you are - I'm adding to my collection and will start working on the equipment again next year when I get my $8000 back from Uncle Sam from buying my house!

Thanks Vega.I Appreciate the Kind Words .

And my system is a very far cry from the One you have Assembled.Your system is simply amazing,as well as all of the Extras also.
And I can see you placing a dark sheet on your ceiling and covering up that Star Panel.

And I guess that star would be Vega. And within Lyra is one of the Messier Objects/M57 I believe, but I may be wrong since I am pulling this off the top of my Head (The Ring Nebulae)

A Lovely Planetary Nebulae formed when a star a little bigger or smaller then our own Sun used up all of it Nuclear Fuel.It Puffed off all of the remaing gas it had left in a 360 degree direction. And now the star continues to shrink physically as it also gets dimmer and cooler since its Nuclear Reactor at its core no longer has any gas to turn into another element to use as fuel.

The same fate our Sun will face in time. But before the last gasp when the star begins burning helium and other gasses it expands and becomes much less dense. And our own Sun will turn into a Red Giant.

And Estimates Vary but will grow large enough to swallow,Mercury and Venus for Sure. Most Models Include the Earth being swallowed also. And in the farthest expansion point it could possibly grow large enough to swallow Mars. But none of us will be here to see just how large it does expand.

Astronomy,Planetary Science, and Meteorite Collecting/Dealing (along with collecting Paper Money frm Many Different Countries) are Hobbies I have been Seriously Involved with at some point or another. But as of Now,HT and 2-Channel Audio are my Main Hobbies.

But Thanks for visiting Vega, and the rounded corners on your Anamorphic Sled is a Beautiful Touch.

We have a winner!!! It is the Vega star. I know it's in the constellation Lyra because it is from where the space signal came in the movie Contact!

Very interesting stuff about suns dying out. Just in case others may get worried, our sun is expected to reach it's demise several billion years from now (correct me if I am wrong Tals).

Thanks for playing.

Thanks Sincerely,Deads.
I have been looking over your space on a Daily Basis with a Very Jealous Eye.

I would Love to have the Room and Space you Have in which to Build an Incredible Home Theater System.
And I know you could watch 10 movies per day and I think it would still take about 50 years to view all the Movies in your Collection.

And the Computer Based System you have is a Sweet touch as an appatizer for the Main Course to come in your Dedicated Area.
Oh what I could and would do with a Space Like You Have. Thanks for allowing us to Follow you on your ride.

You are correct. Our sun has a life expectancy of about 10 billion years. It has been around for about 4.6 billion years now, so we are approximately half way through that life cycle.

I'm not an astronomer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

Hello.

Like the sub riser, what differences did you notice after putting it to use?

You are 100% Correct Vega.

Even the quickest estimates give us 2 billion years and more. But sadly I still dont think we will have the National Debt paid off by then.

And I know you probably are very knowledgeable on Space,Physics(which in your DIY Anamorphic lens could lead one to believe)Astronomy, and almost All Sciences in General.
One reason for the Star Field in the Ceiling.

And Congratulations on the Amazing Gesture Pioneer's Customer Service has offered you.
A Brand New Replacement. That is a Very Kind Gesture on their Part.It will certainly make me consider Pioneer Components quite a bit more when i make purchases.
