Or is it just because you "despise DVD" now? :P

To each his/her own though!
Yeeup, mine is adjusted as well. Plus, I was only way out on a limb about this purchase so throw in a big ol' dvd size and I'll just pass.

Well yeah, I never said that.
Taller is taller, DVD-box is taller than BD-box. Duh. :P
But I wouldn't mind the size for just the size... if it doesn't fit on your shelve, well too bad.
And I can understand you don't want it then...
I'd still keep it somewhere else. There are also bigger box-sets.
But you might not like those at all to put in your collection either.

Simply put it doesn't look right when you have a DVD casing amidst the rest of your blu-rays.. something looks wrong. I'd much rather get the amaray only... not sure at this point if its a transformers 2 thing or not but for me its either a BD size SB or just amaray.. or perhaps ill just skip it as a whole.. who knows

Oh yeah...
But, even though I'm a perfectionist, I wouldn't really mind that.
I really don't need to have like all blu cases perfectly in a row for example. :P
If anything, I have a ridiculous variation in BD-boxes.

I only have about 2-3 films with regular BD-cases and nothing else to them.
For the rest many come in regular cases but sleeved as sets, some individual cases with sleeves.
Some are bigger editions (e.g. 'I Am Legend's "Ultimate"), some are DVD-sized box-sets.
But yeah, I don't have shelves or racks, I mostly have drawers for films and such. :P
Bring on the DVD-sized SteelBook of 'This Is It'. XD Not necessarily though, but I don't mind...

I guess it all boils down to personal preference at the end of the day but im also upset how they can screw something as big as MJ's SB up like this. It would be interesting to see which countries versions end up a DVD size vs the BD size.. then it might give an indication which country piggy backs one another or whether what we are getting is a standard size for all countries...

I suppose I didn't mind as much when I only had a few BDs and mostly DVDs. My BD collection has an entire shelf now, so having a BD in a DVD box stands out like a sore thumb.

This is the case with the BD version of WIZARD OF OZ. The packaging box holding the discs is DVD-sized, so I put it on one end of the shelf.

It looks nicer when all are the same size. It looks even BETTER when they are all SteelBooks!

I don't despise DVDs, but once you go BD, there is no looking back.

Why does it look "wrong"?

I mean, obviously to a large extent it's just a matter of personal taste. But way back when people were still more likely to have books in their shelves (before DVDs and VHS tapes), the books would come in all colors and sizes, and obviously some were thicker than others. Did anyone go around complaining, "awwww but I want all my books to be the exact same size!!!!! Why don't they make them all the exact same size????"

Just wondering...

Well yeah, I understand.
I mean, sure I don't have hundreds and hundreds of films yet.
Even though there are plenty on my "wishlist", I'd still keep it to a selection.
But if you have many, it's indeed handy to have them all (or at least most) in one and the same type of format.
But... still, one SteelBook being a little bigger wouldn't matter.
I mean to go as far as not getting it... but whatever you like.
And I meant as on its own as a design,
there's nothing wrong with it being a DVD-sized even though it's a BD-release.
But OK, if you have a lot to store, then it might be a slight issue.

Yeah, it's a logical thing.
But there are some of those that just get all freaky over it like "DVD is an infection!" or something. XD

Could just be my OCD kicking in here but i like them all the same height.. has a symmetry to it i guess. I know my whole BD collection isn't the exact same height but even with box sets they dont tend to be that far off in height in comparison to a DVD sized one.

I guess im just not happy with how lazy they were in not creating a BD-size SB for the BD .. i mean.. we are paying more for BD after all.. there could have been more care in handling this situation than just mass producing 1 size Either way, we shall see about the canadian release and confirmation from Ian when it comes in...

To BR SteelBook Collector's, uniformity is a high priority. Sure, collecting books in general will bring you a wide array of sizes for your shelves, but let's say you started to collect from a specific Publisher, and they started printing all their books to have the same height and thickness dimensions and you had a nice little growing collection going where all the books looked nice together with similar spines, height, thickness, and maybe even color. How would you feel if they then decided to change up one of their newest books to a larger one, and then went right back to the original size afterwards? You'd still want it in your collection, but it would no doubt bother you that they did that, wouldn't it? Books come from different companies, but SteelBooks are all made from one company, Scanavo, for the various Studios. To BR SteelBook Collector's, the preference is always going to be a BR sized case, not dvd. Even though they are from different Studios, the fact that they are manufactured from one company helps their uniform look on the shelves. I'm still on the fence with this title, but if there is an option for BR sized SteelBook version somewhere, then I'd much rather have it to add to my BR SteelBook collection. I might still get the dvd SteelBook sized one since I still have a dvd SteelBook collection, but I'd much rather have a BR SteelBook, and I might wait 'til after I've seen this one to determine if I want to even bother gettting it in a dvd SteelBook, BR SteelBook, or BR amaray.

I'm sure there are plenty of Collector's out there that don't just collect SteelBooks, so having varying sizes for the movies they buy doesn't bother them in the slightest. SteelBooks, however, are a bit different in that for the most part, a regular BR sized case is the preferred size for a BR SteelBook release.

Clover was shot with a portable 24P 1080p camera. It shows... Blair Witch was shot with a Radio Shack camera...

Yeah, and 'This Is It' is basically a mix of both. XD
Except the HD-cameras were quite big ones too, not too big but they didn't exactly seem the portable type.
On top of that, the majority of the footage is on the HD-side.
Which also means that it's mostly stabilized and not hand-held like most of the SD-footage
and sóme of the HD-footage.

By the way, you might wonder, how am I so sure of this?
Well, as this is a documentary, cameras aren't exactly hidden so there's no problem spotting them.
And I happen to remember them quite vividly...
I think I also saw plenty of photos outside of watching the film...

Where did the information come from that Futureshop is getting a Steelbook, I can't find it listed on their website. I want to be sure they'll get one cause I'll be in the US next week and would check out BestBuy for theirs unless I know for sure FS was getting one too.

Oh I found a post about it on Futureshop forums, I suppose that makes it legit! I'll skip trying to pick it up in the US then.

I saw this at Best Buy today as a $5 preorder towards the 'This Is It' blu-ray. Debating whether the movie's worth getting though.

Besides the US release is DVD sized and not a Blu-Ray sized SteelBook™.

Yeah, I read that. I hope the FS one is BD sized, from those FS forums it looked like that hadn't been confirmed one way or the other.
