Is there no official discussion thread for the Battlestar Galactica Complete Series blu-ray set? I searched to no avail.

Anyway, I was wondering if the Complete Series includes The Plan. I am guessing "no."

Sure there is, quite a long thread here,

And, as noted, no the BSG Complete Series does not include "The Plan".

I knew there had to be - thanks!

You'd think that searching for "Battlestar Galactica thread" would have led me there, but no, it didn't!

Since I didn't see this stated explicitly in the review or forum, I'll ask:
Is the Season 1 set identical to the first four discs of the boxed set?

Cheers and Thanks!

I picked this up. The packaging is horrible, but it's still 100x better than the Complete Series set.

That's one of my main reasons too. I have no interest in owning season 4, and the packaging for the complete set is so horrible, that it just makes more sense to buy them individually.

Yep. I resisted watching this show, mostly because of the source material and because most (modern) TV sci fi strikes me as schlocky. But some friends finally convinced me when BSG was still in its 2nd year.

I Netflixed the mini, immediately bought the Season 1 DVD, and bought the S2 episodes from iTunes. I was hooked. Wow, what a brilliant show it was at that point.

And while it was still really good in season 2.5 and the early part of season 3, it was noticeably losing momentum, I suppose because they were struggling to create an arc that would lead to a conclusion. By the time of the great "reveal", I felt like the balloon had fully deflated. I felt the show was still worth watching for the most part...but not really worth repeat viewing after season 2.

Can't agree more.

I found the very best episodes are in season one and the first half of season two.

Can you let us know what the packaging is like? Is it cardboard slip covering the plastic case?

thanks

P.S - any pix would be great!

Sure. As you can see, it's basically a digipak...which sucks, but like I said, still better than the box set.

the packaging is definitely better than the full series set.

Now we just need them to announce Season 2...

Finished Season One...totally blown away and pissed I didn't watch this show from the get go.

Fortunately for me, a friend of mine in San Fransisco is sending me the rest of the series on Blu-Ray since she bought the Complete Series back in July. I don't have to wait for the rest of the individual seasons to be announced. Because, if I did, I wouldn't make it. I need to know what happens.

Still, reading some comments about the series on different forums, I have a hard time believing that after Season Two, the creators kind of didn't know where they wanted to to go with the series. Just based on the miniseries and Season One, it seems to me that they know exactly what they want to do.

Either way, I'm still excited to see the rest. I should have seasons two through four at my front door by Friday. I'm going to burn through the whole thing this weekend.

I started watcing my Season One this past weekend and I'm hooked. I've only seen the mini-series along with the first episode of Season One. I'm glad I bought it as a blind buy because I'm realling enjoying it.
