Do you know if 3 Days of the Condor is OOP?
Why else would Amazon.co.uk not carry it anymore?

I want it, but don't really want to spend the $46 to import it from France or Germany.

Hello,

If I am not mistaken, initially this title was released only in France, Germany, Australia, Holland (and a few smaller markets). The UK was not included.

FWIW, I e-mailed Optimum on the possibility of Senso. I was initially directed to buy their 2007 DVD release (quite odd, as it seems to be OOP), and then I clarified:

Quote:
Oops, I meant to ask are you releasing Senso on Blu-ray Disc as part of the StudioCanal Collection? I am aware of the 2007 DVD.
And I received this response from Tom Austin:

Quote:
There are no plans to release Senso on Blu-ray. Many thanks
Given that, thus far the OFLC has not classified Senso for release in Australia, the future looks dim for an English-friendly release...at least for now.

They don't get the Criterion Collection.

This is true, and while 8 of the 9 SC releases are Region A and B, all Criterion BDs are Region A only.

Don't think this has been talked about, may want to re-edit into the first post.

Also, I was wondering why they left the cover art for Contempt in it's native French title, yet they decided to put Breathless instead of A bout de souffle?

The Go-Between
It's there, I just don't have the "open disc" artwork for it.

The title Breathless will only be used for the local UK/Australia cover art, probably because A bout de souffle is more complex French than Le mepris. StudioCanal takes its English cues from the UK and when a title is simple French (e.g. Lancelot du Lac/Lancelot of the Lake) that the English can figure out, some distributors will use the French title. The USA does that sometimes, too.

Main reason I ask is because StudioCanal's facebook page has this photo posted :

Yet, I have yet to see any distributor carry it.

Edit : amazon.fr has it, duh.

God I love the packaging for these. It almost makes me want to get A Bout de Souffle even though I find the film itself pretty tiring. Can't wait to see the treatment Mulholland Drive gets! Come on - cover art/firm release date for that soon please!

If I ordered from amazon.fr, would the booklet/essays be in French?

I put The Elephant Man at the top of my birthday list. Will hopefully be receiving it on Friday.

The extensive video supplements would very likely be in English since the film is actually an American production (Note that Paramount's US release lacks any significant extras).

Your other option would be to order the Australian disc from JB Hi Fi (See the first post for ordering links). The listing will likely say NOT IN STOCK, but this is because JB Hi Fi sources batches for orders and does not keep significant stock in their warehouses at any given time. It could take several weeks, but it is your best bet if you want the cover and booklet in English.

Received my first three today.
Only took 6 days ordering from amazon.co.uk.
The blu label on top was just on the plastic outside, which is what I was wondering about, so that's nice.

the titles on the spine face the opposite way of US releases, which is somewhat odd.
