Actually, 0 to -20 is perfect snowmobiling weather. The only thing that bothers me about it getting cold in florida is the rising cost of oranges and juice due to crops freezing.

My northern buddies have seen blizzards over the past year, we are getting another one this week.

That works both ways. When I lived in Houston, my colleagues would show up to work in the morning wearing winter coats, scarves, hats and gloves on days when it did not even get down to freezing. I don't even think I had my winter gear with me the year I was there. Funny observation was that some people would use the acrylic plastic thingies we use up here to scrape frost and ice off of our automobile windows to scrape dew off of their windows.

On the other hand, in the summer, when the temperature up here hits about 80F, especially with humidity above, say 50% (which is nothing compared to Houston) they absolutely wilt. They piss and moan about the temperature much more than people in the south do about cold weather.

They way I look at it is that the heat and humidity can be really uncomfortable, but as long as you sit still and keep hydrated, you'll be fine. The cold, however, hurts, and it can kill you.

I admit, while it has not been a deep freeze around here yet this winter, it has been persistently colder than average, which gets on your nerves after a while. And I thought they predicted a warm, wet winter?

I can survive much better in heat than cold. I'm tropical built. I get really tan in the summer.

True. When it's 90 here people whine because of the heat & humidity. Doesn't bother me much. I like heat. Dry heat more though. I loved it when it was 112 in Las Vegas..only to get off the plane here and it was in the mid 60s lol

Heat can kill too. Back in the mid-90s a few people died here because it was over 100 for a week or so. With the heat index it felt like 115 iirc.
