I read with Comcast buying NBC and differant advertising changes, local affiliates may become a thing if the past anyway...

I don't get all the Fallon hate. The show hasn't even been on a year yet. In these 10 months Fallon has improved immensely. It took Conan about 3 years to really get going with his Late Night, yet nobody seems to want to give Fallon that chance.

It is true that Conan was horrible for the first couple years but my problem with Fallon isn't the show, it's him. I never liked him on SNL and he ruined most of the skits he was in by laughing. This caused me to permanently dislike him and no matter what I'm not going to enjoy his show.

At that time, he used an entirely different set of jokes, which sounded like they were obviously written by other people.

Hell, if you watch interviews of him, he knows his monologue sucks (that was also one of his jokes to us during his warm up set). He just has to use it because it has wide appeal.
That may be, but I judge what I see on his show and he is not funny on his show. Conan manages to be funny on his show, keep things spontaneous and the laughs coming. He's also a much better interviewer, whereas Leno just kisses ass.

If there is an odd man out the one with the worst ratings (Fallon) is the logical choice to go. Besides, I can't stand him from SNL, his movies, or his talk show.

I have never laughed at Conan...
I find him incredibly unfunny and annoying.

Leno I find funny, but Ferguson is still the best

I'm surprised Fallon still has a show, I've tried to watch it several times and...wow.

Yeah. I completely agree with you here. Still, Leno is WAY better than Fallon and Daly.

Conan is funny during interviews but not a fan of the beginning of the show.
I watched Fallon about a dozen times over the time he has been on but it's
not happening for me.

Ferguson is funny, spontaneous, admits when he sucks, and is the best
at interviewing. If a guest is rude to him during an interview he will go after
them and that I like alot. His viewer emails bit cracks me up. His book was
even good.

I will agree with that. Safe is better than unfunny I guess.

The real issue was that they sabotaged Conan when they put Jay on at 10. That ruined any chance for Conan to find his own audience.

Here's another good moment from Fallon:

The best thing Leno does is read jokes sent in by his audience. The skits on his show that feature people that actually are funny are good. Everything else is a waste of airtime. Conan is spontaneous and naturally hilarious.
This. His things like Jaywalking, headlines, etc. are really funny, but he is not. Everything Conan does is hilarious.

Either way, I watch Jimmy Kimmel, so I really don't care about Leno. I just think it sucks for Conan.

The monologue is the weakest part of Conan's show (this is the one feature where Leno's staff of writers do a slightly better job). I'm a fan of both Leno and Conan, but neither of the current formats work well for either television host: Leno belongs on The Tonight Show, and Conan on Late Night (he belongs in New York as well). As far as I'm concerned, Fallon is the odd man out: ditch him!

Conan should stay with the Tonight Show. Leno should just retire.

Dude... really? Jimmy Fallon sucks as a host. He's painful to watch. His best performance was in Band of Brothers... lol.

I'm a big Conan fan but he's changed since moving to LA. He's developed a bit of an ego and it shows. Andy is actually the funniest person on the show IMO.

Also, the fact that he rips on NBC constantly for being broke I'm sure is not helping.

And Leno is just not funny. Old people love him for some reason. He's painful to watch too IMO.

Yes, really. I like Fallon.

I forgot though, I'm not allowed to say that on the internet.

well this isnt exactly true, because jay would have moved to another network, he certainly wasn't ready to retire. and there is a good chance he would have got the 1135 slot up against conan, trust me that would have been even worse for conan.

jay had the number one late night show hands down by ratings for the last decade. so despite the jay haters out there, that says something. even at 10 his ratings were still beating all the late night slots. albeit well behind the regular series on the other networks at the 10 time slot. but the idea there was that nbc had not been profitable at 10 because of the cost to produce a tv series. a talk show is way cheaper to make, so even with smaller ratings they can still turn a profit, even if last in that time slot. No one though really forsaw the impact on the local affiliate news stations, which doesnt say much for the news branding, i guess people just watch the news on the same channel as what they watched at 10.
