The only WB release I saw today was the Miss Congeniality 2 pack - no slip cover.

It appears the slipcovers are very limited on these. The only place I've seen them is at Walmart. They got in about 8 of each, but only half had slips.

I randomly peeked into this thread and after reading all the "drama" of limited production runs of slipcases for these double feature discs, I felt obligated to drop by Walmart (which I hate going to) on my lunch hour to go hunting. Only found two copies of the Dirty Harry one and one of Analyze This/That with slips, no Grumpies at all. Ended up walking away with Analyze since I've never seen it and figure DeNiro and Crystal can't fail me for twenty bucks. But now I've got this darned stupid itch to go hunting for Grumpy.

My slipcase-enamored brothers, you drive me crazy!

I really like both Grumpies, so please give me an idea here on PQ? Is it better or worse than a good upconverted DVD? I've been reluctant lately to reward the studios for crappy transfers.

Guilty as charged, but why accept less when you could have more? So, I have yet to see any confirmation of GRUMPY/GRUMPIER at Wal-Mart, so I guess it's safe to assume that a slipcover will be a no-go on this title. Cool...I'll get to cracking open some shrinkwrap now...

Um..first time they're in widescreen so that in itself is worthy of an upgrade, imo! They need give us Out to Sea on blu next..

I hate when the studios throw us some scraps like widescreen but so so PQ expecting us to buy.

I put it on to take a look. GRUMPY looks quite good. It is pretty much is the same transfer as the single film release from last year. GRUMPIER from what I saw did not look that great. It looked flat and had no punch to it. But I'll have to watch it all the way through to make final judgment. So far I am not impressed with GRUMPIER.

By the way the transfers for both MISS CONGENIALITY films looks superb. It looks to have the best PQ of all the Double Feature discs in this batch.

Yeah, GRUMPIER OLD MEN looks kind of...dim. Like a film being shown via a projector with a bulb about to go out. Sharper, more consistent and detailed than DVD, to be sure, but still rather meh. NOTE TO ANAL-RETENTIVE COLLECTORS OF BONUS FEATURES: If you own the original GRUMPY OLD MEN standalone BD, it features the trailer for the first film, but this new double-pack has NO extra features, not even that trailer. May be reason for some, like me, to keep the original BD, too.
