This is the only comment I'm going to chime in on, and I'm going to keep it related to the specific issue above of the poster who listened to two different power cords and said he could tell a difference between the 3K cord and the 10K cord. In this specific instance it would have been very, very easy to do this test blind. The person having him listen simply didn't have to tell him which cord was which. He could have said "sit and have a listen" and then changed out the cord and then said the same thing again and then asked him if he could tell any difference.

Check out the newly released Pangea power cables at Audio Advisor. Introductory priced at incredible savings. I have not tried them yet but the design and geometry is very similar to Ps Audio's for far less money.

http://www.audioadvisor.com/products.asp?dept=260

The AC9 is designed for power amps and current hungry components.
The AC14 is designed for lower power source components like DVD, Blu-ray players, etc.

(1) Hit up Audiogon here's a search for ya.

http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/srch...cabl&submit=Go

(2) $100 range, look into Pangea, Signal Cable, Tributaries, Emotiva (I think) Or check out JohK's excellent "Take Five" DIY project.

Here's my opinion.

A/B tests and the like are a waste of time and effort. The only way to tell if a component (power cord, amplifier, speaker cable, source component, etc) has made an improvement or no difference at all, is to listen over time. You have to live with it. Give it a couple of weeks.

Ryan4blu,

Sorry for derailing your thread. I could not cut and past links with ease earlier as I was using my iphone. Try this power cord:

http://www.musicdirect.com/product/86725

It comes in 1M($50), 2M($75) and 3M(100)

I believe this is a good start. 3 M cable should be more than you need, I hope.

I would say try them out. I believe both audio advisor and music direct have a 30-day return policy.

To summarize what we've learned:

(1) Snake oil is always the first thing out of the keyboards of people who have systems for which such things wouldn't make a difference anyway.

(2) Try out the one(s) you're interested in in your system, if you don't hear any difference, return them for a refund. Repeat as necessary until you've made up your mind one way or the other.

Ryan,

These may be a little beyond your budget, but you may wish to consider these from Kevin- Valab in Taiwan: These are some of Kevin's King Power Cords:
