The supplemental documentaries and footage found in the Alien Quadrilogy Box Set alone is enough for me to vote the Alien series over Terminator.

I loved that that happened. I thought
[Show spoiler]Newt was incredibly annoying, and I was happy to have her out of the picture in the third one.

I was also happy the tone was more in tune with the first movie of the series. I know many people consider Aliens a masterpiece, and perhaps it is in terms of the action genre. As a sequel to Alien I felt it failed, and I much prefer number three to it.

Alien creeped me out the first time I saw it. The movie stuck with me for days, and eventually became one of my favorite movies.

How about the Italian cross-over, Shocking Dark aka Terminator II?

I'd say Terminator. The Alien series was fun but AVP kinda spoiled it for me though.

HR Giger's vision, even though he hasn't received all the credit due him, makes the Alien Quadrilogy (it should actually be called "Tetralogy") the best of the two. Don't even ask me how I feel about AvP. Hope FOX gets the name for a 4 film boxed-set right for the Blu-ray release!

I think it's a tie for me, both have amazing first movies, good second movies, then the rest is crap.

Terminator

Terminator 2 is the clincher. One of my favourite movies (top 10) and it has aged quite well.

Default Alien VS Terminator

In My opinion, the first two films of each franchise are the only true classics. Everything after is just rehashes to make the studios $$$. I'm not saying that all the later films are horrible but, they are just not anywhere as good. My list for the best of both series is..... 1. T2 Judgement day 2. Aliens 3. Terminator 4.Alien The rest is just popcorn fluff.

Voted for Alien by a hair.

Alien 1,2 & 3(director cut) are very good films 4 not good.

Terminator 1,2 & 4 are very good films 3 not good.

2 different type's of films Alien has a sci fi horror/suspence vibe and terminator is a sci fi action.

I personal prefer the horror/suspence to the action, that been said both are very good in their own right

I'm a Terminator fan as well but the franchise is out of whack because the storyline is messed up, there's always different actors to play John Connor, and poor acting by Arnold in Terminator 3. Don't get me wrong, the action sequences and special effects are way better. My decision was the Alien Quadrilogy.
