The new sub-forums will take some getting used to (I'm used to visiting the same three all the time, but now those are broken down into 7 or 8), but it's nice to have things separated.

I guess the work put into this explains why my name/title change requests over the last year were never addressed (even as I watched everyone else's names and/or titles change all around me).

I just want to be toef, the Blu-ray Pee-Wee, not toefer the Blu-ray Champion

At first I was WTF? Now I know that I like the layout better. Thanks for your hard work on that as I know it took some time to re-catagorize all the posts.

That's so cool.. we have sports, cars, games and general chat. Maybe we can add current events or a news forum? Of course nothing political

Exact same. I checked blu-ray movies, ps3, off / topic , movie / tv. Now I have to go do some thread hunting.

LOL we have enough politics on this forum as it is and that leads to a lot of arguments. I think there's a few too many subforums now but they probably lead to a little less clutter.

Great site update...I know it's the one that many of us have been waiting for (especially in terms of some of the new forums). Really goes to show how much the site listens to its members. Congratulations to all the new moderators as well

For everyone not liking having to scroll through so many forums, you could just collapse the ones you don't visit. Makes it much shorter...unless you visit all of them.

I have four collapsed and it makes the main forum page about as long as it was before without being collapsed.

Dont like the new layout at all. Why would you add the other consoles? They dont use BD. Hardly anybody is gonna be in there which makes them a waste of space. I understand you guys mean well but....uh uh.

Unfortunately after reading the site a while I'd have to go with Saprano.
Lots of work has been put in this I'm sure, but in the end looks more like a step back to please the "non - Blu Ray" crowd it seems, at least to me.

Just kinda weird for Blu-Ray.com

If you think about it though, the reason people come to this site is to discuss BD's so it will really be too big a deal.

They also need to put the PSP back in the PS3 forum as a sub section. Now its extra work just to read PSP news.

I joined Blu-ray.com in July of 2007 as I had just purchased a 42" Panasonic Plasma and PS3/60GB, and wanted to find out about upcoming concert releases on this great new HiDef format. I didn't join because of movies, although I like a good movie as much as the next person. My interest was music based.

As I continued posting I found members that had the same interest and also were very heavily into the audio side of gear. I gravitated towards those members and posted in their threads. After a short while I noticed more and more members (albeit a very small group) interested in specific playback formats, most noticeably vinyl. I once again gravitated to those members and began posting in those threads. Eventually a sub-forum was created to address the interests of members in this category, and I for one have been very happy about that development.

The vast majority of my posts today is in that section and the Home Theatre Galleries section, NOT movies.

Should I be forgotten or disregarded because my primary focus is not Blu-ray Movie releases and only things related to it? If so, I guess I just wasted 2.5 years of posting.

It's a little disappointing to see the safe haven for blu-ray/PS3 kind of disappear but I guess the site needs to grow beyond just blu-ray and the PS3 to survive. Anyway, seems like you could satisfy both crowds if the PS3 section was included in the blu-ray part. That way, someone could just collapse the console section (and other new sections) and the site would appear pretty much like it was before.
