There are plenty of reasons:

Current Games; Mass Effect 1,2; Gears of War 1,2; Fable 2; Halo 3 and ODST (I'm not a big fan, but some are); Lost Odyssey; Shadow Complex; Left 4 Dead 1,2; Forza 3; Crackdown, Dead Rising

Coming Soon: Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction, Metro 2033, Halo: Reach, Fable 3, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Crackdown 2, Dead Rising 2

Not to mention the controller (for most people) is better. Developers generally develop the games on the 360, then port the PS3 version (FFXIII is the exception).

There is no reason to get an xbox.

You are here because you watch blu-rays. Why spend $600 for a console system (xbox) and a blu-ray player when for $300 you get both in the PS3 Slim.

It's a freakin' no brainer. Who in their right mind would buy an xbox? I just don't get the logic.

The PS3 does not charge for playing online games either, like Demon's World, or COD MW2. And probably many more.

Not to mention the far superior direct to PS3 games.

Demon's Souls.

You know you can get a 360 (Arcade) and a Blu-Ray player for the same price of a PS3? Also some people might like games that aren't on the PS3.

ps3 has the better controller....remember the original xbox controller changed so it could more closely mimic that ps3... They put the white and black buttons below, before they were above the 4 buttons...

They are similar products... ps3 br player is huge +... ps3 is slightly better than xbox IMO

360 has way better games IMO. like Dead Space, Gears Of War, Gears Of War 2, Dead Rising, Condemned 1 and 2, Etc.

bought dead space for the ps3 yesterday

but having both consoles for a long time the 360 controller does feel more natural. when playing a fps for hours on end on the 360 then going to the ps3 is awkward but not the other way around

I couldn't disagree more. I get by with the PS3 controller, but that's about it. It's too small and the button layout doesn't make sense to me.

Well one disadvantage to having an xbox is they tend to crap out. I purchased a second machine when my original (day one purchase) RROD'd on me. That machine has yet since to give me any problems *knock on wood* but my newest machine no longer reads discs

I'm going to give Microsoft a call today and see if it's still under warranty

My first one crashed, but it was still under warranty so I got the good end of the deal. I have never had a problem with my new one.

Same here. My first one gave me the RRoD after about a year and a half of use, but was still under warranty. I never had a problem with the replacement Microsoft sent me, but I recently replaced it with an Elite. I traded the old one in for some games.

I guess I'm one of the really UNLUCKY people here because my first PS3 and Wii also crashed and neither one of them lasted anywhere near as long as my first 360. Both replacements are still going strong though.

Called Microsoft, looks like the Xbox is going back for a new drive. Maybe I'll pop by Futureshop on the way home, see what the Elites are going for

My old console/s didn't have HDMI either. That, and the bigger hard drive, are the main reasons I bought a new console.

In the States 360s are price fixed at $300 no matter where you buy from. I don't know what the Canadian pricing would be though.
