WTF are you talking about?! Sony didn't chose any compression codec when it comes to the Pirates movies: they're Disney titles, and they chose AVC MPEG4 (which, AFAIK, isn't a 10-year-old codec).

lol, AVC is pretty much as good as it gets. love how some try to argue when clearly they know sweet FA.

Anyhow as for the topic at hand i got an email from a buddy who is a diehard HD-DVD supporter (as i was) to say his toshiba XE1 has just died, and that he was so fed up with the glitches of the player that he has now done the same as me and gone blu ray, though in his case he now only will support BD. i thought, dam, thats a big deal because he told me when i went blu i was wasting my money and the picture quality on BD is poor and Amir reckons.........

Well he did come to my place and see POTC 2 and apocalypto on BD on my JVC HD1 and i think in truth he willed his XE1 to die so he had an excuse to go Blu.

I just said "i knew you would".

I see from forums all over that more than some are going blu if even they do make a big deal that there reluctant to do it.

Cream always rises to the top.
