I concentrate on buying on the movies and TV Shows on Blu-ray. I have a ton of movies on DVD that are not on blu-ray and maybe will never be. After I catch up on my blu-ray. I only buy DVDs if I think they will never be on blu-ray.

I don't buy dvd's anymore, only blu-ray. But sometime when I rent movies and the blu's are all out I still watch dvd. My blu-ray player upscales the picture enough to make them look good.

I still buy DVDs if it is a movie I want to see but I know I won't watch it again, or it only has DD 5.1, or the review has stated that the PQ is not that good.

I have one DVD left... and that would be the Evil Dead Book of the Dead Edition. That thing is just too freakin' cool to get rid of.

Other than that, I got rid of all my DVDs.

As long as Criterion's still releasing titles on DVD only, I will continue to buy them but they are the only company I will do that for.

I only have a few DVDs anyway, mostly pirates from thailand. I still watch those periodically so I can listen to the Thai audio.
Anything new i buy is blu, however if not available and i have got to have it I will download the torrent.

I still have my normal DVDs, but if I upgrade the movie to Blu-ray, I'll sell my DVD copy.. but any new release I get from now on will be on Blu-ray.. (unless it doesn't have a Blu-ray, which still happens surprisingly)

as for TV shows, it just depends on the show really.. I'm not about to get a show like Grey's Anatomy on Blu-ray.. lol

I gave up DVD's ever since I could download movies for free on the internet... J/K! I used to have a plethora of DVD's but thanks to FYE I sold them all and jumped on the blu wagon. I only collect Blu-Rays now (unless I really want a movie that won't ever be converted to blu). As probably is everyone else thats here on this site HAHA

If the title isn't out on blu then I'll get the DVD - which I guess a lot of people do. It usually only applies to small independently produced films or documentaries that I buy.

I don't have a problem still buying dvd - I'd sooner have the title on the format than not at all!

My collection is still about half DVD and half Blu. I don't buy DVDs.

I used to sell DVDs that I didn't have on Blu Ray yet but nowadays I get only $1 or $2 so there's no point.

I may not watch Jaws, E.T, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, or Indiana Jones until they arrive on Blu but ... maybe I will. As I remember Jaws PQ was pretty good and the movie is great.

I have lots of movies from other countries that aren't on Blu Ray yet here at least.

I will be happy to replace each and every DVD with a Blu Ray but until I can I keep the DVDs.

There is so much out there that isn't on BD and may never be.

I just grabbed the "Complete Poirot" Box Set on DVD and have a few individual titles lined up for purchase. If I can get it on BD I will, but it's not always an option.

Some DVD's I will never part with though, especially the nice box sets with fancy packaging etc (the Troy ultimate collectors edition or the Blade Runner tin set for example)

Most of my favorite series are only available on DVD anyaways (Red dwarf, Farscape, Babylon 5, SG1, SGA, Survivors, etc...they aren't going anywhere!)

I still have quite a lot of DVD. Too many of those might never be release on Blu-ray, like for example the classic cheese kung fu movie Chinese Hercules

Of course I try to purchase Blu-ray now before DVD but certain sales like the B&N Criterion sales make's it impossible for me to ignore certain Criterion DVD are low prices

To me DVD is out of the question!

Once you go Blu, you can't go back. At least, I can't!

I was lucky not to collect DVDs excessively back then. because I wasn't happy with the quality, but with BD I feel that it is really good enough, and can't get much better, unless I want to have a true HT at home.

I am not that big a movie freak, so BD is good enough for me, when it's well mastered that is, of course!

I love BD, and I hardly bother going to the theater anymore, because I rather blind buy a title on BD that I think I could like, and so far it has paid off nicely.

BD rules!

Bring on STAR WARS, American Graffiti, (THX-1138 is on the way anyway!), E.T, A.I, JP, IJ, "Spring, Summer Autumn, Winter and Spring", The Joy Luck Club, .......and I am infinitely happy!

I'm just now getting started on Blu-ray, and I've decided to not buy another DVD.
If it's something that's not available on Blu-ray yet, then I'll get it from Netflix and wait for the Blu-ray release.

I still need to sell my old DVDs that I've upgraded.
