To echo a few others' sentiments, quantity means little to me if the quality is not there. I think catalog releases are getting better overall but some studios still don't seem to quite get it.

I'm mostly happy with it but that's probably because most of the titles I really wanted have already been released/have been officially announced/are rumored to be coming soon. While I still have plenty of other titles in my DVD collection that need replacing, they're mostly the ones I'm not in a rush to replace.

The majority of the time, the titles that will yield more demand have really good video and audio. Sure, there have been a few muck-ups, but there have also been plenty of stellar releases.
Where I'm continually confused is when I see someone expect a movie with very little demand (i.e. The Relic) to be given some kind of expensive restoration. Why would a studio bother with that on a title that's only managing to sell a few copies right now because of its $10 price at Wal-mart? The Relic doesn't look fantastic, but it still looks way much better than my old DVD copy. And sounds a hell of a lot better, too. And I only paid $10 for it. I don't see the need to complain. ![]() |

I'm not happy with Disney. I have no idea what they are doing. They released Alice In Wonderland and several other movies on dvd but not on blu. They released Dumbo on blu to most of the world except for the USA. The only thing they have announced so far on blu (that I know of) is Beauty and The Beast which is still 6 months away. Get on with it, Disney!

Things are definitely looking a lot better for BD now than a few years ago, naturally!
![]() I am still waiting for many catalog titles, some classics and THE STAR WARS SAGA!!!!!!! ![]() I want Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events, which should look really good on BD, Fun with Dick and Jane, American Graffiti, What the Bleep? Down the Rabbit Hole, Zoolander, Shopgirl and many others. I am very happy to see many movies I care for hit BD these days. I can hardly keep up, so that's pretty cool! ![]() |

Paramount has been teasing this title since the beginning of Blu-ray. I can't remember the title i saw the preview on but i was thinking to myself that would be a great candidate to be released on Blu-ray.

I think there could be more, but if lackluster blus are released then we won't see as many as we should. I know LOTR is suppose to help the blu-ray market by selling an enourmous amount. Even converting dvd users to blu-ray users, but the horrible PQ on FOTR may make some of these people go back to standard dvd. If blus are consistantly of superior quality and highly sought after titles are released with great PQ and AQ more people will buy, and prices of manufacturing blus will go down which means the final product will also lower in price.

Most of the movies I had never seen because I was too young at the time to even be interested. But at least now it'll give me the chance to see them in the best quality possible. I'll only be renting, unless I really like them. And it'll give me a chance to save some money

Everyone needs to calm down, every year studios have been stepping up their Blu-ray releases. We are steadily getting more and more numbers, Blu-ray is a steady locomotive that keeps on coming. The best part about Blu-ray is that it is the present and future for viewing films at home for a very, very long time. The studios know this, and we know this. The rest will slowly learn this as well as time passes on.
