(This is not to start any religious conversations)

The Invention of Lying

The whole movie was about Ricky Gervais' character saying there was an afterlife and having religious debates with people and making it look like all of what he was saying was a lie. None of which was portrayed in the previews. Their marketing people were smart because if that was in the preview, nobody would have gone to see it.

I don't think that many people did, it opened up in the number 3 spot!

Sherlock Holmes, it made it look, all explosions and hollywood, but in the movie it wasn't which was a pleasant surprise.

And Taking Woodstock, i thought it would be more about the music and more like Almost Famous but it was not lol.

Dark Blue - the Kurt Russell movie based in LA during the riots where he was a cop.

The trailers made it just look plain awful, but it ended up being a terrific movie and one of Russell's better performances ever in my opinion.

Without a doubt..."Rocky V"...still the most disappointing film I've ever seen in my life, especially considering the expectations I had for it after having viewed the awesome trailer (which is linked below). I was so pumped for the movie, only to get to the theater to find that the overall story was much different than what the trailer sold me on...

They're superheroes. But not the traditional sort. And Punisher is more of an anti-hero.

The Watchmen are indeed superheroes. It doesn't require powers to be a superhero.

Well that's just hero, super means you have powers, your special!

Bet you can't guess what that kind of misdrifts off!

Iron Man is a Superhero. So is War Machine. Batman. Black Widow. Hawkeye. Etc. They doesn't have powers.

Superheroes come in a variety of flavors. Including powerless. To think so ignores 75+ Years of facts.

Public Enemies

[Show spoiler]I thought it would be a match of wits between Johnny Depp and Christian Bale's characters, but nope. They have not even a single scene together, and it looks like they mailed in their performances. The plot also drags along at a snail's pace, and the PQ is garbage, since they shot half the movie with a Handicam or something.

I thought it would be a good movie from the trailers. Turns out it was awful.

No, he doesn't. He talks to the back of someone else's head.

Batman is a caped crusader. A vigilante.

Superman has superhuman powers, and therefore a superhero.

The ones with special powers are "Super". The others are just humans in special suits using special gadgets.

To think otherwise ignores logic.

It would be a wonderful idea to start a thread in general chat about Superheros - Powers Vs Abilities or something like that, but here, let's keep it on topic.

Thanks guys

Babylon A.D.

The trailer made it seem as if the girl had a virus that could wipe out mankind. However in the movie,
[Show spoiler]she was just knocked up
