I like sequels. Some of the best ones IMO:

Predator 2
Die Hard 2
Ghostbusters 2
Back to the Future Part 2
Blade Runner 2049
Aliens
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Gremlins 2
Childs Play 2
Superman II
Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade
Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
John Wick Chapter 2

Some of those may be an unpopular opinion but it's still my own opinion.

Not if they're creative. Mad Max Fury Road and Blade Runner 2049 were both great sequels. I think remakes/reboots/whatever are more insufferable at the moment.

All depends on the sequel. Pointless sequels are bad. Sequels that continue the story properly are great.

Solution for those who are fed up with sequels:

[Show spoiler]Don't watch them.

I am too busy watching movies that I like to be complaining about the existence of those I do not.

There will always be movies that I dislike; I don't watch them. Simplicity at its finest.

Thumbs up

Not a 'hip' opinion, I'm sure, but I like sequels. Some of my favorite movies are sequels.

I like a movie, I want to see more, I go see the next one. So sue me.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with sequels. Expanding upon characters and giving you more of what you liked in the first is just fine in my book.

I like sequels, if they're good. Some examples of good sequels (to me):

Aliens, T2 Judgment Day, Jaws 2, Robocop 2, Empire Strikes Back, Superman II (although I had issues with some things), Exorcist III, Antman & The Wasp, X-Men 2 (way better than the original), Predator 2, Die Hard 2, Gremlins 2, Halloween II (1981), The Conjuring 2, Annabelle Creation, Godfather II.
