Two discs is a good idea, but that is not what the issue is. The issue is YRF not using double disc cases and instead putting the 2nd disc (special features) in a seperate paper sleeve. It is very unprofessional and totally unbecoming and unexpected for a company as reputed as YRF, to being doing this. As a matter of fact this would be unbecoming of any company, whatever status they may be of.

Well, the sleeve in Dil To Pagal Hai looked okay to me. It wasn't cheap paper. It was a cardboard sleeve fully designed to suit the BD. If they do THAT, I won't hate it. But yeah, why not just use double-disc cases? They're already using the bigger cases anyway.

Define "industry standard"! In general the UK use the "fat" amaray and similar, Australia use the "fat" amaray and similar, US uses "thin" amaray and similar, Germany use the "fat" amaray and similar and so on. I think you will find no "industry standard"! Each market uses an appropriate case for their needs: the US use the thin versions as their security devices are small, inside the case, with security labels on the edges. Australia uses the magnetic red tag security system in general so uses the thicker case as it accommodates the red tag. No doubt other countries choose an appropriate version based upon the normal security systems used in that country. |

I don't really think it matters what size case they choose. A large portion of my BD collection are Disney movies, and their combo packs (BD + DVD + Digital Copy) typically come in the thicker cases. But I do agree that they shouldn't put the bonus discs in paper sleeves. I do have one question though about the digital copy. Almost every new Hollywood release now comes with a digital copy, so I can easily download those movies on iTunes and watch them on my iPod. When, if ever, can we expect digital copies for Bollywood movies?

Not that I'm an expert on these things, but I don't think the digital copies would actually increase piracy, which already exists in Bollywood on a large scale. For one thing, every Indian movie's ripped DVD and Blu-ray video are already available on forums and torrents as soon as they're released. Also, there are software programs to easily transfer movies from DVDs to iPods, but this process seems unnecessary now that digital copies are available. I've heard that digital copies can only be accessed by the user of the iTunes account who chooses to download the movie, on up to 5 computers. If he or she deletes his account, the movies become unplayable. The digital copy codes are redeemable usually only within a year or two of the BD's release. And if someone somehow is able to unlock the digital copy, I don't see how people would prefer that over the DVD/BD rips (digital copies aren't great quality) and it certainly wouldn't affect the current piracy. In my opinion, it's an added bonus that would compel people to buy the BD sooner than later, before the codes do expire eventually. On the contrary, digital copies eliminate the need for piracy, because many people want to keep movies on portable devices to watch on the go and, with this, they wouldn't need to embrace illegal sources to download the movies.
