Insidious Review Thread (Spoilers)

We randomly went to see it tonight and I really liked it... and found it really really creepy.

I finally went to see this today and thought it was great. If you put Drag Me to Hell and Poltergeist in a blender Insidious is what you would get. Fans of supernatural horror movies should definitely check it out.

When this hits the dollar theater in town, I'm probably going to go watch it two or three more times. It's at one of the two Drive In theaters we have in town this weekend but I'm working tonight and won't be able to catch it.

This I think goes down as the worst movie I have ever seen.Not one redeeming quality, Was obvious, unoriginal and just plain lame.

No more horror movies for me, they are just getting worse and worse.

Just saw it and I gotta say I liked it. There were definitely a lot of jump moments.

[Show spoiler]I also like that it ended with the "bad" side winning. Far too few movies end like that, not everything needs a happy ending.

The only thing that bothered me is that it took months for a "demon" to weaken the link enough to try and possess the son but the old lady jumped into the father when he had only been astral projecting for like half an hour. I understand that she was trying when he was a kid but the way it was described you had to vacate your body for a long time before anything could get in.

[Show spoiler]The old lady had approached the father when he astral projected as a boy for years as indicated in the photos, getting closer and closer to him. So you could argue that she only needed one more opportunity to take over fully and she got it at the end of the film. Glad you liked the film too

[Show spoiler]That's kind of what I was thinking. But I just wish they had worded it better earlier in the movie. Like say the more accustomed the demon comes to him with proximity the easier it would be to possess.

Still 4 stars from me. A refreshing take on the evil genre.

If it generates enough money with media sales later I think they'll wanna make a sequel. I sincerely hope they don't.

Refreshing There is nothing refreshing about it, have seen everything in that film a million times before. The acting is pretty Bad too, mainly from the mother.

The Ending is pretty damn obvious

I didn't like the music either, seemed to try to hard and failed.Guess you could say it tried to do a shining and missed by a mile.

fantastic movie and by far the best horror movie for this year (at least to start of with at the beginning of the year) !!!

Everything about this film gave us the creeps!! I for sure will be picking up this film once it hits on BR!!

I loved the ending. I loved the message: to have fear is actually a good thing

How many horror movies have you seen like that? The ending is always the same.

watched this a few days ago


it is good. I don't think I ever had that many creepy/jumpy moments brought upon by a horror movie in a looong time

It's a shame the budget wasn't higher some moments were just painfully highschool class project

and

[Show spoiler] the demon was far too Darth Mauly for me but other than that connection he was good

I'm going to watch it again but i doubt it will hold up as well the second time, hopefully it will.

So many girls were screaming it was hilarious

ps I should note the group I went to see the film with didn't like the story, but they still thought it was really creepy/scary (so I dont get how they could say they didn't like it)
