I have no idea what triggered my love for movies. I've always enjoyed watching films, as it has been among my favorite activities for my whole life. The best I can think of is 300. Being my favorite film of all time, the supplements on 300 made me realize all the neat stuff that goes into a film. I never really grasped what goes on during shooting until I began watching the extras on my films. I think between 300 (for the special effects) and Wanted (sound editing), my passion for working in the film industry really began when those 2 were released. So, I've always loved films, but only in the past few years have I started appreciating them in depth.

My current love for movies (to where I wanted to see a LOT more movies) probably hinges on Pan's Labyrinth. Seeing that and some of the segments of Paris je t'aime (sorry I'm not french) made me re-love movies.

None, actually.

I became enamored of movies after watching the 1998 Oscars and going to a movie score concert.

2001 and PATTON at age 7-1/2 and 10. A double feature of TRUE GRIT and FANTASTIC VOYAGE (really!) at Century 25 in Campbell, CA around 1969 or so.

CITIZEN KANE and STRANGELOVE and DARK STAR when I was 15 or so.

Back to the Future is one of my faves, so that's definitely a contender for the top spot. The pre-Disney Star Wars is another one, too.

It was actually a critic from the Miami Herald named Rene Rodriguez, who got me interested in independent and foreign movies. One Friday my History teacher, either in the 9th or 10th grade, brought to my attention Rene's 4-star review of Alexander Payne's ELECTION. He said that I should see this movie because this critic rarely gives out 4-stars. And I did, and I enjoyed it. Then I discovered that the Sundance or IFC channel was playing Payne's feature debut, CITIZEN RUTH, which I also enjoyed, and watched many times. Discovering these two channels, as well as the Miami Herald critic, introduced me to many interesting independent and foreign movies.

Wes Craven's SCREAM turned me into a Horror fan as a 7th or 8th grader. Then John Carpenter's IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS nearly scared me away from them soon after.

I've always loved movies. I can remember being a little girl, and going to see Star Wars and Close Encounters of the Third Kind at the local theater with my family. For most of my life, my blood type has been "extra butter".

I really couldn't put it down to a single one. It was the movies I grew up with in general, ie 80s movies ie the best movies.
