I'll definately buy this disc. I even had the old release in the pre-order at that time, but luckily something in me said: CANCEL!
If nobody has posted screenies at the time I have it in my hands, I'll do what I have to!

Duuuuuude, screenshots please! If you can't, what would you rate it out of 5?

The quality can differ very slightly during the film, which undoubtedly is source-related, but I'd rate it 4,5 to 5. (Alas, no screenshotmaking abilities... )

I see - have you actually watched this one and compared with the older release?

I haven't compared it with the older release, which I never owned, but I know the dismal screenshots by heart. And it all just looks so damn good now that a comparison really isn't needed.

I just bought the new version and did a video of the infamous arrow sequence. I never had the old version so I can't compare but from the screens I saw this is definitely a remaster !
In advance I'm sorry for the poor quality of the vid (that's the best I can do), but it's good enough to see the difference with the old version.

Here's the link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-yTOBHkQ4Y

@Godbluffer

Has the NL Remastered Disc german audio?
Can you verify that by putting it in the player again?

Would be awesome!

Absolutely, I easily see the difference when I compare your YouTube clip to a lossless sample of the old BD.

Jawohl, meine Herr!

But Gladiator in German?
Just watch it with English audio! (there are also German subtitles)

No i actually love the Gladiator Dub. I love the Voice of voice actor Thomas Fritsch much more than the Original of Russell Crowe.
I know for english people or People from Netherland (because is no dubbing there) that must sound very strange. But i have a lot of actors where i like the german voice better. Bruce Willis would be another example.

And for me in germany they are doing the best dubbing in the world. Insane what amount of work they put in dubbing movies.
Because of the general quality of the german dubbings (of course there are also negative examples) i can watch the movies in the language i know the best

Back to topic:
I can't wait to see some 1080p Screenshots

Greetings

Fellas, two questions:

Where can we order from Canada / internationally?

Is it a region free release?

Cheers!

I am fairly certain it is region free as the original release was as well.

Funny, a few weeks ago I listened to pieces of the dubs on the Avatar BD, and the German was the only one that sounded acceptable.
But to me as Dutchman it sounds almost always too artificially.

For me german dubbing is the only dubbing thats really good. So its no surprise
The Germans are very professional with that. And they are working really hard. And most of the voice actors are actors on stage or even normal german movie/television actors like Manfred Lehmann who is the voice of Bruce Willis.
So you could say they play it and not just speak it.

And i completely understand that because you are not used to it. It sounds strange to anybody who lives in a country that has no dubbing or only bad dubbing.

In germany dubbing movies and TV shows etc. has a long history. Since 80 oder 90 Years they do that there and in Television every foreign tv series or movie is shown in german. And most of the time only german without the option to switch to the original track. Also in german cinemas 90 percent of all theatres show the movie only with german voice dub.
So when you live in Switzerland/Germany/Austria you get used to that very early in life you just don't know it better.
Off course the new generation of Kids has DVD and Blu Ray from the beginning and maybe sometimes the dubs become less important. When i was a kid/teenager i had only vhs with one audio track (german) etc. so the first time when i get in touch with the original Voices of the actors was on DVDs 1998/99. And by that time i was 16/17 years old.

Today english is much more important. And the internet is helping it too.
Like i said...maybe it will change sometimes and dubs are no longer that important in germany.

Do they have good customer service?
