Taken was definitely the better movie. Edge of Darkness was all right, but I was expecting so much more out of it. I was led to believe it was more like Payback, but it was actually pretty slow whereas Taken was just ninety minutes of Liam Neeson kicking ass and killing people. Having said that Edge of Darkness did have on WTF moment that actually made me jump and hit the rewind button to watch it again.

I saw Taken twice in theaters and think it has great replay value, even though I never bought it.
I never saw Edge of Darkness because it didn't look too great and I really dislike Mel Gibson, he used to make good stuff, but he now is just a nasty human being... Taken gets my vote. Including, Liam Neeson is an incredible actor. |

Edge of Darkness is OK for Mel's acting and the great cinematography. It's actually pretty faithful to the BBC miniseries but the TV show is much, much better in terms of mood and story development.
However, Taken is by far the better film. |
