I do hope the films are released individually. I'm no fan of box sets, but the fact I saw #4 at the cinema and paid for a ticket is enough money and time spent on that pile of s***. The egg set is totally impractical as a disc holder, and not particularly attractive as an ornament, and I do like my shelf candy!!

At first, I thought you were asking for a 2 foot tall egg. Then I realised that you were just referring to the size of the alien in proportion to the egg.

I just want the standard release...

Standard for me. Always. I have no need for fancy packaging, trinkets or other plastic crap taking up space, and I'm certainly not going to pay extra for it.

I'm with you but...wouldn't you like to own a life size storm trooper?

If the egg had a facehugger next to it, rather than a miniature Alien... I might've been tempted. Also if it came as an additional to the normal boxset rather than where you put the discs, that would have been preferable. With the normal UK boxset being under £40, and the amount of times across various formats I've purchased these... I think that the normal boxset will do it for me. Shame the packaging isn't exactly the same as the US 'A' release which just about edges it, but as long as it's better than the horrific 'Quadrilogy' set (which in turn wasn't as bad as the individual releases) then I'm happy.

Standard will do me.

If the Egg had been a true replica egg from the movies, I would've went for that, I don't like the design of the one that has been chosen though.

I'm glad I didn't preorder after hearing what Cameron said recently in an interview. Talking about Aliens;

Quote:
"It's spectacular. We went in and completely de-noised it, de-grained it, up-rezzed, color-corrected every frame, and it looks amazing. It looks better that it looked in the theaters originally. Because it was shot on a high-speed negative that was a new negative that didn't pan out too well and got replaced the following year. So it's pretty grainy. We got rid of all the grain. It's sharper and clearer and more beautiful than it's ever looked. And we did that to the long version, to the 'director's cut' or the extended play."

Saying its been ruined is just speculation.
There is a 10 page on going discussion on avs forums about this and we have no proof it has been ruined as if they used a careful amount of DNR then detail will not be lost and as Cameron supervised it I doubt he would let them ruin it.

No point making assunptions at this point, plus for those of us with eggs its no big deal if it happens to have DNR as we can make a profit by selling the eggs which would make the standard release free and dont matter if its ruined as we did not spend any money on it.

I would be pre-ordering that Alien anthology egg edition (UK) if I knew if it has finnish subtitles or not.

I could order it from Discshop, but they sell it for nearly 180€. That's just too expensive.

They've already posted the specifications for the UK set in one of the Alien threads and it contains subtitles for the Nordic countries as well as Dutch, German, Portuguese among others. Go right ahead!

I see. Well I pre-ordered it from Play.com. And if they confirm that it doesn't have finnish subtitles I just cancel that order.
