Yeah deciding to stick with this show by watching the T-bag episode doesn't look to good in anyone's eye I would guess. I'm hoping they can change it by the end of the season but since I'm a sucker for most crime shows I'll be sticking with this regardless as I enjoy watching it and I like the cast and want to see what will happen with them.

Really good episode tonight. Glad to see T-Bag again. Don't know that it answered any loose threads, as was insinuated in some preview articles I had seen, but it was cool to see Robert Knepper doing his thing again.

Very emotional scene with his mother at the end, and a great scene between him and Jimmi Simpson at the very end.

It'd be nice to see him show up again, but they'd have to wait awhile. Don't wanna overdo a good thing.

I caught this yesterday, and I thought T-Bag was much more violent, lol. I mean, on PB, I always thought he was more creepy than violent, but I guess whatever works

Breakout Kings fell again ratings to a 0.8. Hopefully the ratings stop falling but this Sunday will tell us.

I thought I read somewhere that he's slated to appear in 4 episodes.

This episode wrapped up way too quickly. They get a tip where he is, show up, miss him, get a tip where he is whilst they're at the first scene, show up miss him, repeat x3.

Such a waste of a great character & actor.

To be honest I stayed tuned to the show just for tbag. I was hoping for good things with this show, but unfortunately I am not tuned in today.

I don't find it to be quite involving. Pretty much boring.

Yeah ratings rose last week so if they keep rising I see it getting a season 2.

Still not sure about the show as
[Show spoiler]they always seem to be in the same area as the suspects and can never catch them. Even super bounty hunter girl wasn't able to catch the last guy when they were pretty close in distance and she's supposed to be some ruthless bounty hunter chick who killed 5 people.

I dig this show. It's nothing groundbreaking, but I think it's a really fun action procedural. Jimmi Simpson, who plays Lloyd, absolutely makes the show. Last week's episode with Derek Phillips from Friday Night Lights as a suspected child molestor was quite good and had an interesting twist.

BTW, the show's co-creator Nick Santora, is on Twitter and he will actually respond to alot of fans questions. I sent him a couple of Tweets and he responded back within a day. Seems like a nice guy. I also sent a couple of Tweets to Brooke Nevin, who plays Julianne (the shy/awkward computer girl) and she also responded too.

Another decent episode. As has been said before, there's nothing terribly original about the show, but it IS entertaining.

Jimmi Simpson remains the highlight of the show, and his relationship with the other con (who gets him out of his jam at the end of the episode this week) is always fun.

Jimmi letting out a "Holla!" at the end cracked me up.

I hope when this show goes away, Jimmi gets his own show. He's damn sure good enough.

Jimmi is the only reason I watched twelve minutes of the pilot. He's awesome. He was great on Psych.

.....and this is why, after watching a random episode a few nights ago, I won't be returning. Even if this one episode isn't representative of the season, there's nothing to indicate that the personalities on the show will be any different week-in, week-out, and I don't see the writing improving drastically. This is as bad as any drama gets, and there aren't enough superlatives to describe just how dreadful this show was. This could have been a substitute for any CBS show and that network's viewers would be none the wiser.

Am I still bitter over the cancellation of Chase on NBC? Somewhat, but they've made their decision and I'm moving on for my drama fix elsewhere. I thought this would fit the bill (a series about Marshals hunting fugitives) and, seeing as it was on A&E, perhaps the writing would be better, or at the very least, the cast could address any shortcomings. I was wrong, dead wrong. The focal point wasn't about the fugitive; most of the episode was spent dwelling on personal issues by two of the members. One was concerned about seeing her daughter, the other was being pestered by his girlfriend to take some time off for an overdue vacation. Are you serious???? What's worse is that I had the storyline figured out after watching the first five minutes, but I wanted my theory to be disproven, that maybe the writers had something special in store for me. Like I said: I was wrong. Not only could I not empathize with any of the characters, I wanted to see them punished for doing everything right because they didn't deserve anything good that came their way.

/end of soapbox rant

I usually do not like procedurals, but Breakout Kings is sharp and has a nice mix of action and comedy. Another season would be great, the interplay between the cons is amusing to watch.

I have been getting the feeling that Shay would be the one of them that would try to run. I think they are setting it up for the season finale to end with Shay bolting, and the rest of the team having to go after him.

I was also thinking how they are essentially bringing criminals in, and TEACHING THEM HOW THEY GET SEARCHED FOR. How smart is that? lol.

So I think Shay, with knowledge now, perhaps a bit more than before, of how he and his cohorts have been searching for escapees, will use that knowledge for him and his girl to stay ahead of the rest of them.

He knows things they look for. This could be interesting.

The only question I have is how it'll be handled. I figure it'll be one of three ways.

1. Shay will run at the beginning of the finale (or perhaps the end of the previous episode) and will be caught by the end of the finale.

2. Shay will run at the beginning of the finale/or end of previous episode, and at the end of the season he'll still be on the run with them looking for him. Perhaps he accidentally kills someone while being pursued (not necessarily one of the main cast) and that's the elevated cliff hanger as he goes on the run as the season ends.

3. Shay will bolt at the end of the final episode, setting up the cliffhanger of Charlie and Ray rounding up the cons and saying "this is who we're after".

I'm actually looking forward to this!

BELOW ARE EPISODE SYNOPSIS FOR THE REMAINING EPISODES.

EPISODE 10: PAID IN FULL (May 8th)

[Show spoiler]A notorious contract killer escapes from the prison to carry out some unfinished business. As he is offing people left and right, the Breakout Kings must try to figure out the connection between his victims, catch him and lock him back up before he can kill again. The common thread between all of his victims was involvement in a tragic story involving the rape of a young female college student 5 years earlier, who’s father happens to be a guard at the prison from where he escaped.

EPISODE 11: OFF THE BEATEN PATH (May 15th)

[Show spoiler]A violent schizophrenic with the skills of an outdoor survivalist and a history of ritualistic killing is off his meds and on the hunt. His prey, Debbie Myers, is a beautiful, young television host. After killing an orderly, he escapes and the one thing on his mind is finding Debbie, taking her to a special place in the Adirondack Mountains and consummating their “love” through a bizarre and violent ceremony which will surely end up with Debbie being killed.

EPISODE 12: THERE ARE RULES (May 22nd)

[Show spoiler]A shocking scene at a prison erupts when an 18 wheeler crashes into the prison wall and an armored car escapes from the back of the truck, with several convicted felons hiding inside. Our rag-tag team is quick to begin the hunt for the fugitives and they learn the escapees are being lead by Ronald Barnes, a Madoff-like man who is hated by all. The follow Barnes’ trail and eventually realize that his plans of helping his fellow cons reach freedom along with him were all a ruse to distract the authorities from tracking down Barnes himself. Barnes will kill anyone that gets in his way and the Breakout Kings must outsmart him before it’s too late.

EPISODE 13: WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CARMEN VEGA (MAY 29th)

[Show spoiler]Carmen Vega, the ruthless queen pin of a drug cartel, pulls off a violent and deadly escape while attending the funeral of her slain son. Her plan, get the family business back in order and hand over the keys to the kingdom to the heir apparent, her son Cesar. Carmen will stop at nothing, including killing a member of her team and even her own family, to put Cesar on the throne. The Breakout Kings seem to be one step behind Carmen at every turn and they smell a rat. Is there an informant within the team? Not only do the Breakout Kings need to catch Carmen to their month off, they also need Carmen to give up the location of where Shea’s girlfriend is being held hostage to save her life. Find the rat, catch Carmen and save a loved one, the Breakout Kings have their work cut out for them. In the end, they realize they really are a team and there’s no going back.

The only problem with the show has been too many tidy endings. By the end of each episode, the case is wrapped up and the criminal has been caught. That leads to dull and predictable television in the long run.

Quote:
I’m sure an official press release from A&E will come along sooner or later but Deadline reports that Breakout Kings has been renewed for a second season set to air in 2012. Its season finale in late May scored a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating and 2.013 million viewers after moving from Sunday to Monday night for its finale.
