Trailer looks like everything I would want from an extension of Bioshock. I hate that they revealed it so early though. 2012 is so long from now.

I'm guessing he must be Booker DeWitt, the game's protagonist.

Andrew Ryan's ancestor?

This is set before the original Bioshock. But it's still a Bioshock game which is awesome. It's good to see Ken Levine is back to doing this. I will miss the corrupted city of rapture though, it was a great and unique atmosphere that no one else has captured. But this city in the sky should be pretty unique as well.

Default Multiplayer Not Guaranteed For Bioshock Infinite

The
Quote:
first BioShock game had no multiplayer mode, a rarity for first-person shooters. BioShock 2, which was overseen by a different creative team, added multiplayer. The series' next game may not, BioShock's original creator told Kotaku.
"Here's what I have to say about multiplayer," Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine said as I broached the topic during an interview with the designer last week in New York City. "It's what we said about BioShock 1: We have not made any determinations about multiplayer.
"I will say that we experiment with things, but for us we are never interested in making a multiplayer mode you could just play in some other game. Because, A) that's not creatively interesting and B), financially, you're wasting your time. They're going to go play Halo. They're going to go play Call of Duty.
"If we do something new — if we do something like Left 4 Dead that has something new to say — people will come to your game. If you don't, don't waste your time."
Over a year ago, Levine was on a panel I co-hosted at the New York Comic Con. He mentioned then, back when his next game was still a mystery to the public, that he was making himself play more multiplayer games, despite typically playing solo games. That does not mean, he said during our Bioshock Infinite interview last week, that he would include multiplayer in Infinite.
"You're not much of a game designer if you can't draw lessons out of A) good games and bad games and B) games that are not really applicable to what you are doing," he said. "You need to look past the surface." The interaction of the lead characters in Left4Dead, for example, inspired the interaction between the two lead characters in the single-player demo of BioShock Infinite that debuted in New York last week.
Multiplayer has been a staple of recent hit games and designs that allow for more than solo-play have become integral to formerly solo-only series as disparate as Uncharted, Grand Theft Auto and Resident Evil.
If BioShock Infinite lacks multiplayer, it will join another rare crowd, the lonely gathering of series like Metroid Prime that added multiplayer for one sequel and then excluded it for the next.

Yeah, that chick in the blue isn't a little sister, she's the gal you're supposed to go save from Columbia.

I liked the hacking in Bioshock but Bioshock 2 made it easier and more fun.

Next month's GameInformer will be coming out with three unique covers of BSI. One of them depicts the Handyman that was shown in the cinematic trailer except this time you see him in all his glory. The other two are titled "Murder of Crows" and "She and Him".

Now that our October cover has been unveiled, it's time to get a better look at BioShock Infinite with these three exclusive screenshots. The images showcase the outdoor environments of Columbia, from the war-torn streets to a park with an idyllic gazebo.

Columbia's visual style is a departure from the underwater corridors of Rapture, and this is an intentional shift in direction. If the original BioShock's artistic vibe could be summed up as "New Year's Eve, 1959," the phrase that the team at Irrational uses to describe Infinite is "Fourth of July, 1912."

You don't need to take my word for it, though. Judge for yourself by clicking on the images below to see the full-sized screens.

Be sure to pick up a copy of the latest issue to see even more exclusive images, including an in-game shot of the 30-foot behemoth chasing after Elizabeth and Booker. Also, don't forget to check out our BioShock Infinite hub all month for even more in-depth info!

BioShock Infinite gameplay teased!

Also can be seen from last night's GameTrailers' TV. It's only a small glimpse, but the game looks pretty awesome.

2K Games have unveiled a tidy bunch of in-game screenshots of BioShock Infinite.
Today, the first gameplay footage was released to Xbox Live. We also published a preview. How coincidental!
