I just called four stores in West L.A. area and none of them rent Blu-ray. If not in L.A., where are they doing it?!

I live in Seattle Washington, and the local Blockbuster is not, and will not "for the immediate future" be rentinng Blu Ray movies.
Hence, Netflix will continue to dominate the rental market (even if most of their blu ray's are on "very long wait").

I was able to find a list on the Blockbuster site for Canada... let's see if they have it for you guys!

Hmm they don't seem to, very odd. Were the local stores unable to tell you where a Blu-ray supporting store would be?

Sorry to hear that, what did the people at the store say when you called?

You may want to contact corporate and ask them.

There has to be a store in your area that rents BD.

If not you can always use the online rental service from Blockbuster.

Oh, they were your typical uber-friendly, completely underworked store employees with a fountain of knowledge to offer on current and future corporate policies. (/sarcasm)

So, basically, they said no they didn't and have no idea when they will.

Yeah, I'm on that, but I like to trade in the mailers for free rentals at the store, and it sucks that I'm stuck with DVD.

The BB in Valrico, FL now rents blu-ray movies. Picked up Rocky Balboa and Letters from Iwo Jima yesterday. Their selection is great and it's much easier to get titles at the store than from BBO. The BB in Brandon, FL also rents BD's. I still buy a bunch of movies off Amazon, as well.

It's $5 for a one week rental, but if you're a Blockbuster Online member, you can bring movies they mail you to the store and get movies for free. That's the only reason I'll stick with BB over Netflix.

Thanks for contacting BLOCKBUSTER Online Customer Care.

The Company will continue to offer both Blu-ray and HD DVD titles through its online rental service, www.blockbuster.com , and will continue to offer both formats at its initial 250 stores that currently carry both high-definition formats. The stores will focus mainly on Blu-ray, but some select stores will carry both.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to provide specific stores that will or will not carry Blu-Ray DVD.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance. Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Sorry, I was unable to obtain a directory of BD stores at this time.

Just rented 2 more this evening.... Glad to see the blu-ray area has doubled in size since last week ! Disapointed to see that despite the larger setup they have less titles then the HD DVD section. Overall more movie copies of blu to rent but HD DVD had more choices......

Another good point was Blu had more rented out when I was there then HD DVD did !

Keep up the support guys..... COME ON !

Ive rented 4 in the last 2 weeks !

Since I rejoined Blockbuster around the middle of July, I've rented approximately 70 Blu-rays both online and in-store. As you may have guessed, I haven't worked in about 2 months. Yes, it's been a nice long Blu vacation for me.

I prefer Blockbuster, rather than Netflix.

We may have to start hitting Netflix at some point. Just to beat the hddvd miscreants.

Its very important to share support at Blockbuster and other rental places. If movie downloads take off like some are thinking then these companys need something to still keep them in business..... They will need some type of new format to continue there company and build for the future !

Heres to that future being BLU !

The Blu-ray store I shop at has a huge Beautiful display. I will take a picture next time i'm there and post it on this thread. They only rent BD!!!

Your store needs to get the hddvd discs the hell out of there. Glad to hear BD is outselling hddvd at your store.
