Just a repackaging, which Fox does constantly with their catalog titles. I saw them on foxconnect about a month or so ago

Saw that cover in BBY today. $9.99 for the set.

I wound up ordering it later off Amazon when they PM'd BBY, though (had some Discover Cashback to burn). Been wanting to pick it up for a while, and $9.99 is a hard price to beat!

So who is Amazon price matching if anyone? I'd rather pick this up locally since I don't have prime.

Sorry to harp, but is everyone sure that this version (snarling Kevin holding blow dryers) does indeed carry the 'Family Fun Edition', with commentaries and docs? Read on a few other forums it was not.

The outer box does not list the contents, but if it doesn't contain the "Family Fun" edition it would have to contain a brand new Blu-Ray disc not previously available in the United States, ostensibly created specifically for this release.

I got this edition from Best Buy. It's the exact same discs (Family Fun for the first one and barebones for "Lost in New York") with different cover art.

Great, thank you. Just got it in the mail from Amazon, haven't opened it yet, and the spines look different from the Family Fun Edition. I was worried HA1 would be some sort of new barebones edition.

I don't mind the new artwork on the outer box or on HA1, but I don't like on HA2 how it's a picture of Kevin the same age he was in part 1. At least it looks that way. Looks like it's from the same photo session even. It doesn't even look like a whole other movie, set a year later and in an entirely different city.

Makes sense. I believe the 25th Anniversary BD was a 4K scan.

If you have Netflix, you must watch the Home Alone episode of The Movies that Made Us.

I never knew how close this movie came to never being made!

Oh, the Die Hard episode is really good too

Can someone please confirm if the Canadian version of this 2-pack from 2017 uses the remastered disc for the first film?

It's currently on sale, and I'm tempted to buy it. (never owned either film before, and I don't have a 4K set-up)
https://www.amazon.ca/Home-Alone-2-Movie-Collection-Blu-ray/dp/B074V2SPWD?tag=bluraycom0c-20&linkCode=xm2&m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB

I've seen unboxing videos of the US version, and it seems to have the remastered Blu-ray of the first film, but then again, Fox changes the art on their discs a lot so I can't be sure.

So, there are 3 versions of the Home Alone 1 & 2 Blu-ray Collection currently on the market. They are, from left to right, the 2017 Fox release, 2020 Buena Vista release, and 2020 Disney Movie Club exclusive release:

In terms of Blu-ray disc content, they are all the same, with the 2015 remaster of Home Alone, and the only HD transfer of Home Alone 2 that has ever been released. The DMC exclusive differs in that it also includes DVDs of the two movies.

The Fox release comes with a slipcase, and the two Buena Vista releases come with a slipcover.

There is one other distinction on the digital copy side. The two Buena Vista releases have Movies Anywhere redemption only. The Fox release is through foxredeem.com, which gives you MA, iTunes, Vudu, and Google Play options. If you choose iTunes for Home Alone, you get the free 4K upgrade (which also ports to MA) on that when you redeem it. And I guess you could hold onto the Home Alone 2 code too for a while, in hopes that a 4K version of that is also released, and then redeem it on iTunes.

BTW, Best Buy lists the DMC exclusive version in both picture and description on their site. They don't have it though. They only have the regular non-DMC version.
