I love Takeshi Kaneshiro, and I think this was his first big budget Japanese film also, which doesn't hurt.

I remember seeing your review of Mulholland Drive, Region B locked, and promptly ordered it. Figured there was not much point in waiting for a Region A any longer considering how much I enjoy this film.

Sure enough, I was overall very happy with the purchase. It was just as you described.

I wonder though if I can ask you or anyone else a question? It concerns the famous low-light lesbian scene. No, I'm not asking about a bush! Although it is worth entertaining.

Did you or anyone else notice the rather ruddy appearance of Naomi Watt's face? Especially odd, considering the almost perfect creamy coloring of Laura Harring's face which, in that scene, was very close by and in the same dim light.

I wasn't sure if it might be digital noise or not. But it did make Watt's face look rough and too reddish. It could be though the intrinsic color of Watt's skin whose rosacea like redness could come to the fore in certain light. Especially dim light which can sometimes draw out redness.

I don't remember seeing that in the theatre though it might have been there as it is on my old DVD.

I furthermore started to wonder about the setting on my Samsung 63C7000 or maybe my Oppo 83. Otherwise I am happy.

So maybe on a more professional system something other shows up here?
