my top 5 favorites...
1. An American Werewolf In London 2. The Howling 3. Dog Soldiers 4. The Curse Of The Werewolf (Hammer Films) 5. Ginger Snaps honorable mentions: The Underworld Series, The Company Of Wolves, Stephen King's Silver Bullet Wolfen is not a werewolf movie since there aren't any human beings physically changing into the wolves. Brotherhood of the Wolf is not a werewolf movie, and it's arguable the creature is even a wolf. The Wolfman I haven't seen yet, although I did see the Benicio Del Toro remake. |

My favorites are:
The Howling The Wolfman (1941) Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (nice to see Lugosi and Chaney have fun with their characters. The movie is hilarious and respectful at the same time. Costello's run in's with Chaney as The Wolfman are priceless. Dog Soldiers The Wolfman (2010) not a bad movie and Rick Bakers make up is awesome as usual. |

I agree with those who said The Company Of Wolves - brilliant, surreal film. If you can, try and pick up the UK steelbook, as I believe that has a slightly better transfer than the standard version. I own the steelbook and its a decent transfer for an old, low budget film.

I almost agree about Sybil Danning but Elisabeth Brooks was seriously sexy in the original Howling.

I hope. I love this movie. I wish they'd put it out with the R2 commentary for completeness (even though it really isn't that great a commentary).
